Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Hello @PeppiPatty, over here my special friend xx

Hello Everyone

Love to hear from others on the forum if you experience this

My hubby has been diagnosed with lots of things and has had MI all his life

do you find things goes ok and i start to feel confident and wanting to go forward and then everytime something always happens to upset it -- sometimes I think is it a controlling thing ?? that he wants to be in control ??

Don`t know if I am making this up , but i have that feeling ,

Hi @Determined @Shaz51 @Faith-and-Hope @Former-Member and everyone else.

Had some me time today at the movies after a 3 yr old bday party too. It was great. Something odd happened to me. Haven't heard from my partner yet sadly but today i headed to church after the party before the movies. Was running bit late and got bit lost and the only way to church i remembered was one if the main roads which is in the suburb of my partner. Was thinking if i would see him walking on street....few mins later I saw him driving opposite direction to me! :face_with_rolling_eyes: Anyway i texted him to let him know...will see if I hear anything but thought it is really odd coincidence

Hi @Determined@Shaz51@Former-Member

Thank you for thinking of me and asking after my well being.

I am feeling positive about the future outcome for myself and husband but it has been really tough watching him suffer. And I feel his pain. And because of this my health has also been effected.

So it has been a very hard couple of weeks and presently I am taking it one day at a time.

Have needed a lot of sleep to cope and finally am starting to get it.

Now to shake off the distress and anxiety and move forward to better times. Hope all is going okay with you both @Former-Member@Determined. How are your partners?

@Shaz51 will be thinking of you when you visit the GP hoping something satisfactory can be sorted for your husbands well being. I tried years ago going off meds to fast and it was a major mistake - horrific withdrawal side effects. I did so for the same reasons your husband did and it did nearly end me up in hospital. But I am a tough little cookie and fought through it. But I would not wish it on anyone. Wishing you and your family healing and peace.

@Shaz51

Feel your pain having to be the calm strong one.

I can't ever have an off day or my darling can't cope, sometimes a simple hug and some encouragement would fix things but she would rather nag me senseless abouy what is wrong until one of us completely breaks. Or if I tell her what is wrong she breaks anyway. Just have to pretend everything aok and smile all the time.

sometimes hubby will be quiet all day , and I start thinking have i done something or said something wrong . It won`t be to much later when he finally tells me what`s wrong and I start to get tears in the eyes or want to yell out "Is that it " -- why didn`t you tell me earlier
