Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Hello @PeppiPatty, over here my special friend xx

Hello Everyone

Love to hear from others on the forum if you experience this

My hubby has been diagnosed with lots of things and has had MI all his life

do you find things goes ok and i start to feel confident and wanting to go forward and then everytime something always happens to upset it -- sometimes I think is it a controlling thing ?? that he wants to be in control ??

Don`t know if I am making this up , but i have that feeling ,

Hello @Shaz51 @Anony18 @Faith-and-Hope @Determined

I reckon we all need a visit to the hairdresser for a carer peer support session whilst having a cut and colour to cover the gray. @Shaz51 might need bonus foils, Anony18 a treatment and F&H perhaps a perm. I'd be happy just having a cut, so overdue. (@Determined if you don't want a perm you might opt for advanced hair studio in lieu, although I reckon you would not want to miss out on what us gals would say).

I like looking at things on the Mighty too @Anony18 but am having to look up scholarly articles as Mr Darcy diagnosis still not confirmed I need to be adequately informed, got thrown a curve ball last December with a differential Dx and don't want to be caught out again.

On that note I emailed his case worker today as my gut feeling is not getting better in relation to Mr Darcy and possible early relapse. Might need to get him back to pdoc earlier, would like case worker to make the call but I think it will be me having to follow up again.

Glad I got that right @Shaz51, wouldn't want you to miss out on a perm if that is what you wanted.

@Shaz51 @Anony18

Sadly my experiences with Mr Darcy going walkabout and applying for Centrelink are quite different to yours and all I can say is my thoughts are with you both.

LOL @Former-Member

My hair care consists of a DIY with a No. 1 Comb on the clippers.
Mind you the mohawk is a tempting proposition for no other reason than it would get under the skin of my mum and mother-in-law. I don't help myself sometimes but a little bit of fun goes a long way.

@Shaz51
while dealing with centrelink can be quite stressful if you can get over the initial hurdle it can take a huge load off. Just need to find a doc who knows the system and is able to help.
Hardest part can sometimes be in actually accepting the help.
