Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Hello @PeppiPatty, over here my special friend xx

Hello Everyone

Love to hear from others on the forum if you experience this

My hubby has been diagnosed with lots of things and has had MI all his life

do you find things goes ok and i start to feel confident and wanting to go forward and then everytime something always happens to upset it -- sometimes I think is it a controlling thing ?? that he wants to be in control ??

Don`t know if I am making this up , but i have that feeling ,

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Hello @Shaz51 - everything is ok today. I was telling a couple friends. Not sure how to explain it but although I have yet to speak to my partner (neither has reached out) I feel positive that we are ok. It is a weird feeling. But at same time not feeling like I should reach out just yet. Whether we are indeed ok or not - it is a gut feeling and I do hope the gut feeling is right and we can get through this.

I am so tired though and I am not sure why cause I have been sleeping fairly early. Well earlier than normal. Maybe it is the weather.

Oh is this a good feeling or not a good feeling? When hubby says everything is ok - do you think he means it or deflecting and that he actually isn't?

Hi @Anony18xx

hubby has been on the same meds since 2015 so the GP said to do some blood tests and the meds are only for short term , so hubby decided to go off his meds only by half but the last few days have been sooo bad that he said he will end up back in hospital

soo he has gone back on full meds and we have a doctors appointment where we are going to ask to see a specialist

but i havet his feeling that hubby will say no, i don`t need to see a specialist , I am ok

has your partner got bak to you since that weekend my friend

@Shaz51

Oh that is not good but it is good he is self aware of the impacts...or so for your sake I hope that is a good thing. I do hope he will go see the specialist rather than say he doesn't need one. The people we care for so deeply are so stubborn sometimes that it makes our jobs as carers that bit harder. But patience, and immense one at that we must practice.

Unfortunately he has not. I have a feeling I will have to reach out first. I just hope he hasn't dashed off overseas again. He has a tendency to book flights last minute. The joys of not having to work and having that money saved up...gives the luxury to travel as and when. I don't mind he jetsets off cause it has done him more good to be away. But of course it be nice to clarify and talk things to know where to from here and if I am wanted in his life still, given the things he has said over the weekend. I don't like the feeling of arguing and having things unresolved....at least from my perspective. To him - it may have been a small argument and he may think things are ok. I am the sort we argue I like the words "yeah we are ok now" to materialise. Just that verbal/written confirmation you know.
