@Shaz51
Even if Mr Shaz might be stubborn and not want to sign a form , you personally might be entitled to a health care card. Carers Australia have dedicated staff that help carers deal with Centrelink, am sure this could be done over the phone. Setting up a mygov account is useful as you can upload documents. Everything seems to be time limited. I finally convinced my stubborn mother to get a seniors health care card (my sister in law went with her) and when she was told she was entitled to a part pension the forms were suddenly all filled out pronto.

@Determined
Perhaps an unusual (clip on) earring or nose ring might do the job while you work on the Mohawk.

Hey @Over-The-Edge
Been thinking of you and when pathology results might be back. Don't feel you need to say a thing, just letting you know you that you are very much in thoughts and prayers.

Ha Ha @Former-Member That would be funny, however given the hard time I have given my brother about his jewellery I'm not sure it would work.

edit/ add
My brother has all that and more - for real lol
Not my 'cup of tea' as the saying goes

Have been thinking about you toady, trusting you can get some direction with the case worker and a Mr Darcy relapse may be avoided.

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Thank you @Former-Memberand @Determined - your thoughts and prayers mean a lot. More than you know and is very appreciated.

My husband had investigative surgery on Tuesday. His specialist found damage to his bladder that apparently is the result of his radiation treatment 18 years ago. Which was surprising. So they surgically repaired some of the damage. Now they will be keeping a close eye on it in case it turns cancerous. But no cancer detected in the bladder at this stage which is good news 😊

They also found a 2cm size complex cyst on his kidney which they will also be keeping an eye on. If it becomes aggressive they will commence treatment. So it's one day at a time for now but much better news than we feared. No high grade cancer! Prayers answered.

Sorry that I haven't been participating much here the last few days but my husband is still in a lot of pain and has my full attention at the moment. But I hope to be back in full swing on here shortly as I think of you all also. Caring for loved ones can take its toll but is an honour to care for those we love.

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Hi @Determined,

Thank you, it really does help. I still feel bad about talking negatively about him, even when talking to the psychologist I've been seeing.
That makes prefect sense, your wellness flowing on to your wife's. That's a really good way to look at it.
I hope you start to feel more positive soon. I know how horrible it can be feeling stuck in negativaty.

I thought the same. This college hasn't been good since day one. The don't support their students at all. My partner has never mentioned the BPD as all study is online, but they are so slack at even responding to simple questions. It takes them weeks to respond to emails, that's if they respond at all. It's really frustrating as he joined this course trying to get himself on some sort of track, and they have ruined the whole experience for him and made him doubt himself. Not what he needed.

That's so good that your uni is supportive! That would be such a help to you and your wife! I'm really glad you've got it.

Yes, I'm hoping it will all go smoothly from here, as he has submitted everything.

Thank you for your thoughts, it was a long afternoon but I'm feeling more positive today. We will just take it day by day and get through as best we can.

I wish you guys all the best.

Hi @Former-Member

Yes we have made it through the week! How are you and what are plans for weekend?

I am going to bite the bullet and try call my partner within the next hour and if he doesn't pick up will text him. Ask him if his gastro is gone and if things are ok with us given last week. PLus ask if maybe we can catch up soon. Feel like it is the right timing. Hope he is (1) still in country, (2) replies and (3) i see him soon.

Nervous as hell though!!!
