My hubby has been diagnosed with lots of things and has had MI all his life

It is ..... it’s really hard @Former-Member ...... and I am sorry you are faced with such struggles, but it is the last and best you can give your Dad, and nobody can take away from you what you have achieved so far. Only you know whether you can keep going against opposition, but try to just take it a day at a time and see what you can manage progressively.

Hugzzzz black to you ....... ❤️❤️❤️

Hi @Former-Member Hugs to you too.

I'm a bit sad that we haven't had exchanges much recently - maybe it's because you & I aren't posting (writing) much?

I often think that you have pearls of wisdom to offer (say) - so does @Faith-and-Hope & @Former-Member @Shaz51, & many others.

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Answering you here @outlander ..... 👋

S2 going well generally @outlander ..... few missed classes owing to social anxiety or mr-pressure-upset ...... D3 has been out of class for two weeks now with what appears to be psychosomatic illness. She has had an inflammation marker come up in a blood test, so there is something going on, but it affects her to a far greater degree emotionally than it ought to ...... symptomatic of our background issue. She started with a psych last week, so hopefully that will help, and S2 is due to start with a psych shortly too .....

Having a mental health professional in their corner gives them an advocate when mr starts trying to impose his expectations or control issues in a way that is not achieveable for me, owing to the spousal dynamic that is also dysfunctional.

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Sounds like both kids are doing the best they can under these circumstances too @Faith-and-Hope good to hear S2 is generally going well.
That doesnt sound too good with D3 hope they find whats causing the inflammation to make is less painful too. Thats good about both having a psychologist too. Is D3 able to defer for a few months while shes getting things worked out or possible part time study like some online theory work?

Sounds like some good changes happening despite mr and the dysfunction.
Are you still seeing a psych to help you too? And making sure your taking care of yourself too?

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Have been seeing a psych very infrequently after a few months of getting the whole story out there cos there is really nothing to be done that I am Not already doing @outlander. When I do see him it’s really just to being him up to speed with what has been happening, or ask for clarification about something new.

Self-care is key to being able to survive this.
