My hubby has been diagnosed with lots of things and has had MI all his life

do you find things goes ok and i start to feel confident and wanting to go forward and then everytime something always happens to upset it -- sometimes I think is it a controlling thing ?? that he wants to be in control ??

Sounds like this move to the East coast is a long term thing @Faith-and-Hope. Sad that you feel the need to hide away. Would love to meet in a coffee shop with you and while away the time but no coffee for me - perhaps a herbal tea.

@Hillsy - hi - don’t think we have met - those provisions - is that dinner tonight?

Have hit a kangaroo too @Determined. Fortunately just a little panel damage at the time.

I have had roo damage ranging from small scuff to almost write-off @soul

The joys of living in a rural area 🙂 , problem is everytihng is made of plastic now not steel so not so forgiving. Biggest damage added insult to injury when the roo got up and hopped away lol

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

3-4 years for uni studies @soul ..... but these boxes are all excess to needs from another property ...,,. and mr. saw fit to unpack them - now - to save paying longer on a storage unit ..... but the most critical thing was getting the kids settled here and attending classes ..... straightened up again and getting their life skills back in order ...... so he goes and floods the house with disorder, and S2 is not even coming out of his room ..... :face_with_rolling_eyes::face_with_rolling_eyes::face_with_rolling_eyes:

I need patience to deal with this, but at the moment I can’t see / feel past gutted.

It will pass ..... and the excess will get sorted and tons of it will get given away (it came from another property in another city where the extended family were intended to come and stay ...... but that collapsed ..... whole other mr. story there ..... )

Life goes on. Some people don’t have enough ..... we are flooded, and flooded, and flooded with too much ..... and then there have been the actual house water floods that cause endless chaos and reparations ......

That’s all behind us now, and this will be too ..... eventually .......

Got to watch out for those roos around dusk @Determined.

@Faith-and-Hope - your Forum name says it all - you must have a lot of it. It's so hard when we see our kids struggling.

You are really needing some peacefulness in your life. All that clutter - another source of stress.

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Mr’s disorder doesn’t allow for peace @soul ..... it is going to be a struggle until something happens to unmask it ..... so the rest of us have to keep treading water any way we can around it ...... and find joy in the happy moments when and as we can.

I so wish it would come out where it can be assessed, diagnosed, treated ...... so hard just functioning in limbo, but it could always be worse. Tryouts ng for I count blessings where ai can cos there are lots amongst the heartache.

“Tryouts ng for I” = trying to ...., in Martian apparently ....

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

It's been going on for some time now @Faith-and-Hope. Are you worried that he may have to experience a major health crisis for it to be diagnosed and dealt with?

I know what the issue is (having read your posts) and yes - it's a tricky one.The impact on the rest of the family is obviously taking its toll.

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

@soul ...Hi, nice to meet you

@Faith-and-Hope sounds like you've had huge amounts going on. Sometimes its hard to find space to just breathe with so much happening. At times I can put the blinkers on and ignore all the clutter but other times it can feel overwhelming. I know it doesn't help me or Mr H with all the clutter around. We have decided to try and get rid of things bit by bit. Does take time though but am trusting the peace afterwards will make it all worthwhile
