Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Hello @PeppiPatty, over here my special friend xx

Hello Everyone

Love to hear from others on the forum if you experience this

My hubby has been diagnosed with lots of things and has had MI all his life

do you find things goes ok and i start to feel confident and wanting to go forward and then everytime something always happens to upset it -- sometimes I think is it a controlling thing ?? that he wants to be in control ??

Don`t know if I am making this up , but i have that feeling ,

Hi @Determined
We use a mood chart from this website which has a couple of options. Have seen one elsewhere that has a spot for mitigating factors (such as chook v hound incidents), I just put little notes in if needed.

Don't know what happened on the weekend but by the sounds of it it's something you don't want repeated @Determined.

Happy that the boys are settled as that was something that was causing you quite a bit of concern.

See what the workload is like with those three subjects and how the family and yourself adjusts to the routine and then make the decision from there with regards to uni.

Glad that your mother and your Darling are hitting it off.

I guess you need to take each day as it comes @Shaz51 and be flexible.

I'm okay - plodding along.

Saw somewhere you have been cooking up a storm, something I dream of doing.

Oh dear @Shaz51
When a cyclone is pending there are things you do to batten down the hatches.

I have been wondering if there is parallel emotional preparation we can undertake as carers so that we feel better able to see the storm out.

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Is there a cyclone pending up here @Former-Member ??

The cyclone I am thinking is Mr Shaz

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Cyclone Mr Shaz was the storm I had in mind too @Shaz51

I have been thinking if Mr D took a turn for the worse, how well prepared would I be and if there are things I could do to metaphorically batten down the hatches in relation to my own emotions so that I would not fall apart. I know in one way I feel stronger than before but wonder if I would hold strong.
