Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Hello @PeppiPatty, over here my special friend xx

Hello Everyone

Love to hear from others on the forum if you experience this

My hubby has been diagnosed with lots of things and has had MI all his life

do you find things goes ok and i start to feel confident and wanting to go forward and then everytime something always happens to upset it -- sometimes I think is it a controlling thing ?? that he wants to be in control ??

Don`t know if I am making this up , but i have that feeling ,

Good questin to ask @Former-Member,

I thought I was doing ok and had strategies in place but found out just how unprepared I was on the weekend. Is this something we can ever be prepared for even when we are prepared?

Staying brave for the children is all that held me together on the weekend.

I think it is better to be prepared than have ones head in the sand @Former-Member @Faith-and-Hope @Shaz51 (thinking of how I once was in that statement, not a reflection on anyone else)... but when something does happen how can we really prepare for that ?

For me the hardest thing on the weekend that while we had been there before and the intention was the same the method was out of the blue and taken to a whole new level... in that instance I felt completly unprepared.

Spoke to someone on the help line earlier today and was feeling a bit better and more confident about a plan moving forward but just reading something now (different thread) and it has all come flooding back 😞 want to help but feel so helpless....

I am thinking that being aware, taking notice of our gut feelings but understanding that if something happens that it is an emotional time no matter what we do, that things may be different with different crises but that it has a huge impact on us.

Yes I agree @Former-Member

I have been picking up on all the vibes this week for the change , that is why I am wondering if I have stepped in early because he seems ok at the moment -- it does not mean that tomorrow will be the same
