Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Hello @PeppiPatty, over here my special friend xx

Hello Everyone

Love to hear from others on the forum if you experience this

My hubby has been diagnosed with lots of things and has had MI all his life

do you find things goes ok and i start to feel confident and wanting to go forward and then everytime something always happens to upset it -- sometimes I think is it a controlling thing ?? that he wants to be in control ??

Don`t know if I am making this up , but i have that feeling ,

@Shaz51

It is really upsetting when clear communication is not given around psych meds, these are not innocuous drugs.

It makes it harder when there is not a good (or non existent) therapeutic alliance between patient and treating team.

Keeping Mr Shaz employed is a major plus, I know that can be draining on you.

It is not easy at times.

hello @Shaz51

mr shaz not coping with his medication...hard for him...hard for you...

just wondering if it is hard for his doctor.....does his doctor know that he starts...stops..starts...reduces...when he feels unwell? or this all done under the instruction of his doctor?

any change in dosage or type of medication usually always brings with it minimum side effects...usually not lasting long and very minor sometimes not even noticeable if not taking note...

a visit to his doctor ...talk about what is happening with medications ...side effects...etc....are you or he keeping a journal...as darcy has mentioned a very close watch on any change in dosage or side effects needs to be noted and then reported to doctor..

I do realise this puts a lot more extra strain on yourself...perhaps if you think about it from the point of view...if mr shaz has improvement...life will be slightly easier for you perhaps..

some people actually have their medications made up by the chemist for a period of time....with days of the week..so whatever is needed to be taken morning noon night whenever is in it's own pouch...can't think of the name...now there is a surprise..said my head is foggy...

this could be useful for you...then you can check what he is and is not taking...unless of course he is sneaky and hides them..

just a thought

sorry to hear that mr darcy is howling....do you have a dog who might joing in...or the neighbours? only can say this to you dear darcy...

all jokes aside...hoping that you all have a peaceful night...I am heading that way myself now..
