Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Hello @PeppiPatty, over here my special friend xx

Hello Everyone

Love to hear from others on the forum if you experience this

My hubby has been diagnosed with lots of things and has had MI all his life

do you find things goes ok and i start to feel confident and wanting to go forward and then everytime something always happens to upset it -- sometimes I think is it a controlling thing ?? that he wants to be in control ??

Don`t know if I am making this up , but i have that feeling ,

@PeppiPatty
Have thought of you and Mr G often and have missed you on this thread. Living with someone with major MI is not easy and your insights an posts were so helpful.

Went shopping today for mobility aids for Mr Darcy as he really is having a lot of difficulty walking. He was not happy, he does want to be seen in public with any form of assistance but he has been using the walking frame since we got home. We do have elbow crutches but he cannot manage them. Have occupational therapist coming next week so the raised toilet seat will be put in then. Mr D most upset about this; we do not have an en suite and he is worried what visitors will think. I must admit that at one stage I could not stop laughing about the seat, matters relating to bodily functions often have this effect on me. The other option is crying and I have done enough of that.

Just came across The Power of Vulnerability clip by chance @Former-Member while resarching one of my current assesments. It was referenced in an article talking about increasing empathy through gamification. interesting application to a diffrent topic which has given me some more insight into the current task at hand.
