Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Hello @PeppiPatty, over here my special friend xx

Hello Everyone

Love to hear from others on the forum if you experience this

My hubby has been diagnosed with lots of things and has had MI all his life

do you find things goes ok and i start to feel confident and wanting to go forward and then everytime something always happens to upset it -- sometimes I think is it a controlling thing ?? that he wants to be in control ??

Don`t know if I am making this up , but i have that feeling ,

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

@Faith-and-Hope Have a lot of feelings floating around, in one way it is not the actual surgery itself but concerns around it along with a couple of other issues. Going OK though, allowing for living grief in relation to these things, doing what needs to be done (and finding black humour in some of these things). I have a firm foundation and will continue to chose to be grateful and focus on the positives, despite his pain and current catastrophising, Mr D has been so much more stable that he has been for years.

You have just put into eloquent words how I have been living with the "living grief in relation to these things, doing what needs to be done (and finding black humour in some of these things). I have a firm foundation and will continue to chose to be grateful and focus on the positives" @Former-Member

I can so relate !

Walking with you ..... ❣️

lol @Former-Member

I hadn't heard of it either before the start of semester 1 this year. The more I research it the more it amazes me how much time and resources are invested in teaching people what not so long ago was normal expected behaviour. Like using virtual reality to teach people to interact with each other and have empathy. How about we do it the old fashion way and just talk to each other ?

It's up to S2 over here @Former-Member ..... with WH's support ..... I am not convinced at this stage that it is going to happen, but have to see what starts next week with CC and I h te that goes. Apparently that is going to our arena to start dealing with the real issues .....

Still very nervous about that, but know I've gotta just see how big my brave is .......
