My hubby has been diagnosed with lots of things and has had MI all his life
do you find things goes ok and i start to feel confident and wanting to go forward and then everytime something always happens to upset it -- sometimes I think is it a controlling thing ?? that he wants to be in control ??
Don`t know if I am making this up , but i have that feeling ,

Day going well so far @Shaz51
Darling out on her bike at the moment, big boys are up the road with a friend on their bikes and I am stuck inside while bub sleeps. Dont like leaving him inside alone.
Blue sky and no wind here att the moment. Nice day to be outside.
Got a bit of work done out side this morning. Was going to wippersnip a bank but burned it instead. Much easier instead. Got anothe section to do but my darling has clothes in the line so may not appreciate the smoke lol.

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness
So pleased for you @Former-Member that you have diagnosed that give you a framework to move forward on ......
From what you have said, I think we are going to have a set of diagnoses over WH too ..... think NPD is quite likely in there somewhere, and ADHD amongst other bits and pieces including GAD and depression.
Have to wait and see what turns up and not get too far ahead of myself. We don't even have a referral to a pdoc for him at this stage, only the periferal diagnosis from S2's pdoc ..... and no acknowledgment of the e.d. yet either.
I have started a new painting. That's something I CAN deal with ......

Hey @Shaz51 Hoping for dry days ahead for you so jobs can get done.
@Faith-and-Hope getting to the Dx has been a long haul (first symptoms 2002, down hill from 2005).
@Determined hope you have an enjoyable time too.
@soul thought of you as I had my hair done today. Keep being gentle with yourself, grief takes its own time, it is early days.

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness
S2 broke down in tears this morning @Former-Member .... and was unable to go to CBT till this afternoon. WH has talked it through with him, and is going to talk to his piano teacher with him today, because he has his heart set on achieving high piano grades but didn't want to tell her he is unwell, and last week she tore strips off him for not practicing ..,,,
It's the blind leading the blind ...., should be funny, but of course it's not !! WH hasn't a clue that he has been the driving force behind S2 needing treatment, and S2 is not wanting to acknowledge the effect his dad has had on him ..... and privacy laws prevent me from telling the therapist what is going on .... and it's too dangerous to speak up in front of WH ....,,
I really don't know what to do beyond the moment .... and keep praying over them both.
I thought 8 years was a long time, but yours has been 15 years in the making ..... thank you ..... that might help me to keep my grip here.
😔

Oh @Faith-and-Hope - that must have been really hard for you to see your son in tears. It's tragic that someone with MI not only affects how they function but also has far reaching effects on others as well.
I guess it's a matter of living one day at a time and hoping for better days down the track.
