My hubby has been diagnosed with lots of things and has had MI all his life
do you find things goes ok and i start to feel confident and wanting to go forward and then everytime something always happens to upset it -- sometimes I think is it a controlling thing ?? that he wants to be in control ??

Ouch. 😨
I would like to think my cooking was memorable for the right reason.
Main complaint here is I dont use enough spices. Not that I dont like it but gives me bad reflux so just dont use them. Makes it too bland aparently. Used to bother me, going to the trouble of making a nice dish only go see i drowned in pepper and chilli. Used to it now though.

How did you go with the work you needed to do for uni @Determined? I know that was weighing on your mind.
Dinner is left overs. Used to love cooking for others, now it just seems to be fuel for the body.

@soul, uni work still on hold, got the contents of a group report finished on Friday, was suposed to tidy up the presentation slides over the weekend and reherse the speech but achieved nothing, just cant seem to concentrate for more than 5 minutes at the moment. Haven't even looked at the report yet. Have 2 weeks to complete it and there is 40-50 hours work in order to get a good mark. I would usually like to have the first draft done by this stage 😕 it is still achievable though, just need to find some focus.
I got into cooking @soul@Former-Member when I was sharing a flat with my sister, we were living away from home going to university, she could burn water, 20 years later she still can't cook to save herself 😨😨😨

It's hard when you lose focus @Determined. I have been putting off doing last year's tax return. Had real intentions of getting all the info sorted for the accountant today but I've lost all motivation.
Sounds like you've done better than your sister on the cooking front though.

Big wave back @Former-Member ..... 👋💕
Morning everyone .... 💕☕️🍪
Had an eventful weekend full of family occasions, then D2 fell down the stairs at the theatre, skinning her shin really badly in the metal edge of the stairs. Spent the rest of the evening at hospital .... rolled ankle, tendon damage, but no fractures.
S2 had a better day yesterday, probably cos WH was more reserved. D2's accident seemed to cause a switch, but we were also out for most of the day too.
Not sure whether I mentioned on this thread that the uni counsellor triage took him out of classes for the rest of the semester, booked him the earliest available counsellor apt for 4 weeks time, and sent him back to the family dr for a letter to say that he is too unwell to attend classes.
Family dr has taken him out of classes for the rest of the year, written the letter, and referred him to a psychologist. WH asked to attend with him, and both S2 and the dr agreed ...... this is going to be interesting .....
On the way home from the family occasion yesterday I had a convo with S2 in the car .... WH wasn't with us cos he was dropping his mum at home. Told S2 I felt awful that I hadn't been able to protect him more in our situation. He asked what I thought I could have done more than I have. I said "leave". He said that it would have been 100x worse if I had left ..... brought me to tears with that ..... then he said that it wasn't my decision to make cos they're all adults now anyway .....
Beautiful validation there for the choices I have made so far ..... and my dad said the same this morning .....
😔✅💕

hello @Faith-and-Hope
when we can get our children (adults) to have conversations like those they are priceless.
They not only validate our own feelings but remind us that our children are adults with their own thoughts and feelings equally important.
struggling with younger son opening up about older son... too much happened between them over the years... is going to take a long time. Harder when the conversation is with the older son and he wants answers about his brother. I have to dance around that subject.

they took my hubby off the support list saying -- " we don`t know how to help you if you don`t help yourself "
we were angry, and I was unsure what to do back then , and hubby didn`t want to do anything about it , so that is why we are alone
