Support for Flowerlove22

Hey @Sunnyside226 ,

I hope you don't mind me making this thread for you.

I just wanted you to know that the whole forums community is here to support you through this challenging time.

Please look after yourself. I recognise it's hard to look after three small children on your own.

Re: Support for Flowerlove22

Hey @Sunnyside226, it sounds like you're having a rough day! I'm sorry to hear that!

Sometimes, it is good to let our emotions out, so long as we do not harm ourselves or others.

I wonder if you could pick something from the following list, like give yourself time to play or scream into a pillow:

Alternate Rebellion | DBT Self Help

Could you join your other child in whatever activity they are engaging in? Or do you need to self-regulate first? Here with you!

You're not worthless! Just going through tough times, by the sounds of it! I know when I am having a bad day, those feelings of low self-worth creep in, but that doesn't mean they are true! You can get through this ❤️

Re: Support for Flowerlove22

I would be worried about those kids if you are smashing things in the house bro

Re: Support for Flowerlove22

Man at least go outside and kick some paint cans or something don’t smash things in the house

Re: Support for Flowerlove22

Ask yourself whether smashing this is actually helping you rn or whether you could be letting your emotions out in less destructive ways @Sunnyside226. You mentioned you were laying into a pillow over the weekend which is a good way of letting off steam that is not destructive.

You are caring for children and providing them with a safe space to live and they aren't yours. That is a very worthwhile thing to be doing!

Take care

@RiverSeal @Former-Member you know what people on here make things so much worse everyone thinks I am some kind of person who just isn't capable of looking out for the kids so next time my brother asked me to do I will say no because people in here make out like I am some bad person who just hurts hurts everything it's obvious you think I am bad

This was what I was talking to with @tyme last night I really hope you are happy for making someone else feel like shit it's not anyone I just tagged

We can't control what other people say to us and we can only control our responses @Sunnyside226. The Forums community knows that you are doing a good job of caring for your brother's children. We know that you are finding it tough, but you are demonstrating your resilience and strength as you are dealing with your MH as well.

Maybe setting some boundaries with your brother is a good idea and not taking on responsibilities that you don't want in the future. Have you done that with other things in your life or with your family before?

Please stay connected on the Forums with the community and we are here to support you.

If you want to talk with @tyme please email team@saneforums.org and they will get your email as they are the Community Lead on the Forums.

I know you have been going through a tough time looking after the kids @Sunnyside226 and it's good that you set a boundary and called your brother, and they are going to stay with your friend for the rest of the time.

It's ok to display anger @Sunnyside226 we are here to support you and know that you have been going through a tough time lately.

How do you feel now you have made this plan?
