Oscillation between two mind sets

Oscillation between two mind sets

Sometimes I feel like I’m on top of things and don’t feel like my trauma defines me and I don’t feel so ashamed and scared. Other times I want to hide from the world and feel like a **** (I’m not going to say the word here since I don’t want to trigger anyone) 😭, I feel so ashamed that I don’t want people to know

@creative_writer oh nice one, haha I wouldn't worry too much I am the same with some stuff. I really need to change my sheets, for instance 😅

Nah not too much, probably just continue watching the new Avatar on Netflix later.

@Jynx, I’m hoping the clean brushes will help my face friends go away. Man, those things take forever to fade. I think I’ll need to change my sheets tomorrow as well. Though I’ll probably dump them on the floor, I have other clothes to wash first.

I’m in bed right now and have been extremely distracted. Trying to sort out where I’m going to get clothing from.

I hope you enjoy watching the new Avatar.

Re: Oscillation between two mind sets

@creative_writer haha yep, I will probs chuck my dirty sheet into my closet for now, until I need it again 😅

Oh and pillow cases too - apparently that also has a big impact on pimples and blackheads and stuff. I saw someone on reddit who said they slept on a fresh towel every night and it cleared their acne right up!

Sounds like even if you're distracted, it's by something productive and fun, so it still counts haha.

Thanks hun, it's not bad! Not the best, but not bad 😊💜

@Jynx, I’ve been using silk scarfs are pillow cases. I wasn’t bothered to buy silk pillowcases so I then decided to use the scarfs. I have torn through quite a few of them. They are super thin and I only machine wash them on hand wash. Though I’m not sure if you’re meant to wash them in the machine, but that doesn’t stop me. Scarfs are two in one, a scarf and a pillow case. I don’t think my hair would like sleeping on a towel, it would be so knotty and a frizz mess.

I’m not sure if scarf shopping counts as productive. I’m looking for breathable lightweight scarfs for everyday use, maybe something like viscose or bamboo material.

I haven’t seen the new Avatar. I don’t actually have Netflix right now, I think we are thinking of renewing it at some point, I have a few things lined up for watching

Oooh how lush @creative_writer - maybe hand washing them by hand could help with their longevity? I have a couple of items which I only wash by hand, I've gotten used to the process now but can be quite arduous for sure. Worth it though if it means that I am spending less on replacing stuff every 6-12 months.

Hmm maybe not a towel, but like a tea towel? They're pretty smooth. But not as smooth as silk lol.

Yo, we're neurodiverse, I reckon if it's shopping for something that benefits you then it's productive! Gotta take those small wins, yaknow? Sounds like you're doing your research! Bamboo is the best for softness in my opinion but I don't know much about viscose so can't help you there!

Oh nice, whatcha got on your Netflix list?

I will say goodnight now hun, I'm logging off soon, but I'll be back round tomorrow so we can talk tv and scarves some more then! Hope you have a restful night 😊💜

@Jynx, I’m lucky the scarfs weren’t expensive, they are the cheap thin silk, but yeah, they would last way longer if I hand washed them.

I was leaning towards bamboo, I don’t like itchy materials. I can’t wear a beanie without a layer underneath (which I do anyways), feels so suffocating and uncomfy otherwise. Viscose is also soft, but I think bamboo tends to be softer, even if it’s bamboo viscose. Viscose isn’t always bamboo, but can be made from bamboo. There are different type of bamboo materials, viscose being the most common.

I had a few like the crown, Wednesday, Lockwood and co, Spider-Man. There may have been others, my sister is keeping record of the list.

I hope you had a good night🩷. I woke up feeling not well rested, I just hope I can get into uni early so I can get stuff done before class. I am barely coping with the workload from struggles with MH and physical pain. I’ve been rather nauseous today as well, couldn’t stomach my morning snack today. I don’t even feel like eating now, but I probably should

@creative_writer yeah my skin is soooo sensitive! Itchy clothing tags are like, Jynxsbane haha. I always keep some stitch unpicker tools handy to remove them from new clothes. Also means I simply cannot wear knitted clothing!

I have mostly bamboo socks, and now you got me thinking maybe all my clothes should be bamboo! It really is the best. I'll have to check out the viscose ones to see if they suit as well!

How did you go with uni this morning? And are you still feeling nauseous? I saw on a random reddit thread the other day that apparently the smell of rubbing alcohol can help with nausea! They use it in hospitals sometimes. Also, fresh ginger is amazing for nausea too. I like having a ginger tea with lemon and honey when feeling ick in my tum.

Re: Oscillation between two mind sets

@Jynx, I have very sensitive skin too. Gotta thank my dad for that. I also prefer bamboo socks and clothing. I had to settle for bamboo cotton blend socks, I found myself going through pure bamboo socks way too quickly. Viscose is okay too but still not the same as bamboo. I guess you get what you pay for. I also don’t like tight things, particularly around my head. I literally found myself stretching out those under caps because they felt uncomfy, but it meant that I got some loose threads out. There weren’t worth much anyways.

I skimmed read through module content. I can still go over it again before my tute on Thursday. I have two classes tomorrow, so will be a full day. I do want to get at uni early since I feel like I study better there. I haven’t tried the smell of alcohol, I had ginger tea this morning
