Sometimes I feel like I’m on top of things and don’t feel like my trauma defines me and I don’t feel so ashamed and scared. Other times I want to hide from the world and feel like a **** (I’m not going to say the word here since I don’t want to trigger anyone) 😭, I feel so ashamed that I don’t want people to know
@Paperdaisy, I don't have anyone to talk to, I'm used to it so it's no biggie. I still have a lot to do for uni, so I'm trying to get through that

Re: Oscillation between two mind sets
@Paperdaisy, sorry i was reading through module content for tomorrow. I sort of left it to the day before, I was too sick to do it yesterday. We have module content to read over before tutes. The modules replace lectures, but I'm not sure how I feel about that since you don't really get an interaction with others. We do have quiz questions, but it can be hard to get through it all. I'm doing social policy right now, it's okay, wouldn't say it's my favourite subject. I prefer the micro level work with clients

Re: Oscillation between two mind sets
@Paperdaisy, I’ve only ever volunteered and haven’t had much opportunity to work with clients on placement yet since my first placement was research focused. I am excited to. My volunteer work as a Lifeline crisis support worker and youth mentoring did help me develop counselling skills. I’m not currently volunteering, just trying to get by. I don’t think I am in the mental state right now with this bipolar flare up. I have a three month intensive placement later this year too so want to work on my MH before then

Re: Oscillation between two mind sets
Do you think the placement will be helpful for your MH @creative_writer ? I always find things improve for me when I'm out and about. Sometimes too much of my own company is a bad thing.. too much time to think ya know?

Re: Oscillation between two mind sets
@Paperdaisy, as long as I get a supportive placement. I was initially allocated to a really crap placement last year which didn’t work and was bad for my MH, but got reallocated to a more supportive placement afterwards. I felt a huge difference. I got meaning from placement. I did from Lifeline too, but I am not well enough for Lifeline. I’ve been struggling with SI myself and it’s been getting to the point I start thinking about ways. The PRN have been helping me get through the days, but know I fear PRN may become a regular part of my meds. I don’t want to have to eat more meds than I already do, but my MH isn’t good

I hear you @creative_writer it's a long journey and sometimes hard to support others in this space when we are battling with stuff ourselves.

@creative_writer Hey hun, just been reading along. Rough one today eh? Sounds like the mixed emotional states are pulling you in different directions.
Glad you've been able to focus on your uni readings. Learn anything interesting?
