Sometimes I feel like I’m on top of things and don’t feel like my trauma defines me and I don’t feel so ashamed and scared. Other times I want to hide from the world and feel like a **** (I’m not going to say the word here since I don’t want to trigger anyone) 😭, I feel so ashamed that I don’t want people to know
Sorry you feel this way. I'm curious to understand who this person you wish you were is actually like.
What does this other person do that you currently don't do?

Re: Oscillation between two mind sets
The young girl in me grew up and saw how cruel and dangerous the world was. I feel like I must always be on guard and it’s exhausting. I’ve seen too much pain, I have memories I want to forget. I can erase it. I feel like I can’t be as free and at ease as I used to be. I can’t remember what life was like before MI, physical health issues and trauma

I hope you will be able to work through some of this so that the focus can be on the present and what you can change @creative_writer . Life's just too short. I'm so sorry you are hurting.

Re: Oscillation between two mind sets
@tyme, I always feel like the broken one. I am often sick, struggle with MI, and need to take a lot of meds to function. As much as I hate having to take meds, they might be saving my life. If I didn’t have the PRN last night, things could’ve gotten way worse. Things have gotten way worse before. I never wanted life to turn out this way. I know lived experienced may make me a stronger person and may be valuable in mental health clinicians, but it is still a heavy price to pay

Re: Oscillation between two mind sets
@tyme, what can we say, sometimes MI chooses us. If I could have any other way, I would choose a different life, but this is the life that I have. I think there is room for improvement in identifying mood episode with mixed features. I sort of wish bipolar didn’t run in my family, but not something you can choose

This physical pain has really gotten really bad. I wish I could cope with the pain the “wrong way”. The pain is torture. I know they say it’ll only be a short term relief and cause more issues down the track. How do I get rid of this pain? I need to take my nighttime meds soon, I probably should eat something small first, but I fear everything will make me nauseous

Oh dear. That sounds so hard. I can only imagine what chronic plan for a young person can feel like @creative_writer
