Sometimes I feel like I’m on top of things and don’t feel like my trauma defines me and I don’t feel so ashamed and scared. Other times I want to hide from the world and feel like a **** (I’m not going to say the word here since I don’t want to trigger anyone) 😭, I feel so ashamed that I don’t want people to know
@creative_writer It's not about 'how life has turned out' Hon but the future you have ahead of you. We are shaped by our experiences but they do not define us. Broken hearts can be mended - and just like Kintsugi, what is put back together can be more beautiful than what it started out as. Imperfections tell a story but they also give meaning to something that once may not have been viewed - life can be like that too. I have had so many wonderful opportunites open up for me over the last year or so and that would never have happened without dealing for so long with mental health issues - so we do not know what the future will bring but we can build a different life for ourselves that has meaning and purpose (and that only has to be for us to feel personally). I have no doubt that you, too, will build that life and use your own experiences to help others ❤️

@Zoe7, our experiences can open up opportunities. When doors of opportunities close more doors open up for you. It is hard at times not to grieve who you used to be. That’s the nature of life, you gain life experiences but there is also a sense of loss

Absolutely @creative_writer Grief is a difficult road too - we all grieve differently but also need time to do so.
I am off for the evening Hon - have some work to do before bed. I hope you get some sleep and tomorrow is better for you ❤️

It’s lonely never ever feeling fully safe with anyone. At this point I’m just looking at what I can do to detach. I cope with loneliness by detaching, and have been since I was a kid. If I feel nothing, I won’t feel sad or lonely. I have gotten thorough life using suppression and disassociation

I used to judge people who had an addiction, I had multiple relatives die from smoking. Now I just want to allow myself to develop an unhealthy coping mechanism if I can get my hands on it. I am struggling to sit with this pain. Trauma feels too much

What are some other things that make you calm @creative_writer
Would prayers or mindfulness help at this time?
I'm here if you need a chat.
Hi @Zoe7 - how are you?

Re: Oscillation between two mind sets
@tyme, I did try some prayers, it helped a bit. I hope it settles down soon, I feel like I've consumed 100 cups of coffee, mind is racing like crazy. I don't want to have to take another PRN tom. I did have a PRN on Friday too, brain has been crazy. I feel like my migraine is causing me to feel as though my head is on fire too

I have a migraine once in a while, and it's bad enough. I can only imagine how difficult things are for you right now. @creative_writer
Can medical intervention do anything about your migraines and pain? You are so young and it sounds like chronic pain is putting your life at a standstill.
