Something’s not right

Oscillation between two mind sets

Oscillation between two mind sets

Sometimes I feel like I’m on top of things and don’t feel like my trauma defines me and I don’t feel so ashamed and scared. Other times I want to hide from the world and feel like a **** (I’m not going to say the word here since I don’t want to trigger anyone) 😭, I feel so ashamed that I don’t want people to know

I need a hug. Nobody is safe

Are you okay? @creative_writer

Here's a virtual HUG.

Have you tried hugging yourself? The pressure may help.

Re: Oscillation between two mind sets

@tyme, I had a rough day. I found myself itching towards an agitated depressive state (probably a mixed depression). It was building up for a couple of days like it usually does. Took PRN, feeling better but far from okay. I’m no longer agitated, sort of feeling very burnt out. Maybe I’ll see how I feel tomorrow. I could try hugging myself.

Thank you 💖

Another alternative is the progressive muscle relaxation where you tense your muscle and then release. This can have a similar effect to a hug @creative_writer The pressure and the tight feeling.

Give it a go!

I'm hopping offline now, but I'll chat another day. Please take care.

Sorry Hon - had a difficult afternoon 😢 I do hear you on the pain though and know how hard that is. I think going to a different GP to get another opinion is a wise move @creative_writer Hopefully someone else can help you a bit more Hon.

@tyme, I am familiar with progressive muscle relaxation but haven’t used it much. Might be worth a go.

@Zoe7, I feel like I need to get some answers for my physical health, just not sure where. I hope today has been kind to you 💖

Re: Oscillation between two mind sets

It might be worth asking your GP if there is anyone they know that specialise in complex health. I was sent to a specialist GP several years ago when my GP was not sure what was going on. He was great - took him no time to work it out and I was able to be treated straight away. Took some time to improve but just to have some answers was amazing @creative_writer

I actually slept most of today. Finally got myself outside this afternoon and have been out most of the late afternoon until now. Have to have a shower though as I have been sitting in dirt pulling up weeds lol

Re: Oscillation between two mind sets

@Zoe7, it can be hard to figure out what is happening. I’ve had aches and pains for a while and no idea how to cope. It usually does take a while to improve but it would be good to know.

Sleep is good. I slept more today too. I went to bed around 11pm and woke up after 9am. I was so exhausted, I believe I fell asleep straight away too. Maybe it was also the PRN. I was out today. Ordered some new glasses at the optometrist which will be ready in a couple of weeks. Been distracted much of today. Now I’m at home, in a better place than yesterday, but making sense of things. I feel like I’ve let whoever did those things to me win for so long. I must transform into something better and allow my experiences help me empathise with those I will help later down the track

Re: Oscillation between two mind sets

That is an amazing outlook @creative_writer I let those people rule my life for so long too. The day I finally said enough was a massive break through for me. That does not mean there are times that I don't slip back but I can pull myself out quicker and move on again much better. I can honestly say I would change the past if I could but I can also say I am who I am because of my past - and being able to use those experiences and knowledge in working with other people is priceless. You have so much ahead of you and if you can use your own experiences to empathise with people then you are already half way there.

Re: Oscillation between two mind sets

@Zoe7, carrying this within me is affecting my physical and mental health. It’s exhausting. I think I need to let go and accept how my life has turned out. Fighting against fate isn’t doing me any favours. We are more than where we have been but it’s so easy to forget. Maybe broken hearts become more valuable like Kintsugi
