Oscillation between two mind sets

Oscillation between two mind sets

Sometimes I feel like I’m on top of things and don’t feel like my trauma defines me and I don’t feel so ashamed and scared. Other times I want to hide from the world and feel like a **** (I’m not going to say the word here since I don’t want to trigger anyone) 😭, I feel so ashamed that I don’t want people to know

Christmas at my sister's place this year @creative_writer so should not be stressful. I will have Toby with me and with my back, I won't be staying long.

@Zoe7, I’m happy to hear that the stress of Christmas has been taken off you this year. Furry ones make everything easier too 💖

Having to keep a close eye on Tobes at the moment. He ate some chocolate 2 nights ago and although he didn't need vet intervention he certainly has had an upset tummy. He is looking a little brighter this afternoon but still not back to his normal self @creative_writer

@Zoe7, I hope Tobes feels better soon 💖. It can be hard with furry ones. I am glad he didn’t need an intervention and he is doing better. I am thinking about adopting a pet myself from the shelter, but the house needs organisation first

Tobes is looking better but still keeping a close eye on him - which is not hard as he has not left my side as per usual @creative_writer

You absolutely should have a pet Hon - they are the best. No matter how my day is going or what has happened, coming home to those furry little faces who just want to give me love is everything.

@Zoe7, sometimes pets do eat things, they are essentially like babies in a way. If we got a cat, we would probably exercise extra caution. For example, I know cats would be willing to drink milk even if it upsets their stomach. They are lactose intolerant.

I could really use a furry one curled up against me right now. GERD is awful and is causing me pain. I just didn’t realise those with sensitive stomachs need to exercise extra caution with certain over the counter pain relief. I knew intrinsically that it was a listed side effect. I didn’t actual think it’ll flare up the situation. Migraine intensity hasn’t been the worst and I’m getting through it, so I can live without any pain relief right now

My first cat used to drink milk - she loved it @creative_writer She would not drink water unless it was dripping from a tap so I used to water down the milk for her. Clover won't drink the water in her bowl but goes straight to Toby's water bowl - she is so cheeky. Toby thinks he is the boss but really Clover is LOL

Tobes has not vomitted again today and is looking much brighter so hopefully he has it all out of his system now.

I have medication to take for the side effects of one of my other meds. One of my pain meds sometimes affects me adversely also so I have to be careful when I take it. That has been an issue being at work as I have only been able to have it when I get home and by that time the pain has usually increased. The good thing now is I may not need much of it as I can lay down and take it easy for the next 6 weeks.

@Zoe7, my mum grew up overseas, and once a cat came into their kitchen and knocked over the lid for the milk on the stove. They had to heat the milk themselves because it was not pasteurised. I don’t think anyone drank the milk afterwards. Cats tend to love milk since it tastes so good.

Clover sounds very naughty. Cats think they own the house and a house becomes their territory and anyone else who lives there is living rent free in their home.

I’m probably going to take antacids, I’m worried if I let it go on it may cause inflammation inside me. Though it’s my fault that I’m experiencing this since I was not careful.

I hope you find the break helps you with your pain 💖

Re: Oscillation between two mind sets

It happens @creative_writer Can't do much about it now apart from manage the after effects. I hope the antacids work for you Hon.

Yes cats rule the roost. Clover is so different to my other 2 cats though - she looooves Toby and is not fussed at all by him being constantly by my side - she just walks over the top of him for cuddles LOL Toby gets really jealous and will jump in front of me when Clover is approaching - she just goes around him haha. Toby does not always come when I call him but Clover does 🤣

@Zoe7, pain clouded my thinking. But I guess it’s just about management. I have to even be careful with diet due to issues with GERD. Might need to find alternative pain relief considering how my body is.

Clover and Toby are an interesting bunch. It’s always cute watching the relationship between two fur babies. They do seek attention. Even our neighbour’s cats (who is not even our cat) gets jealous when we pay attention to another cat.
