Sometimes I feel like I’m on top of things and don’t feel like my trauma defines me and I don’t feel so ashamed and scared. Other times I want to hide from the world and feel like a **** (I’m not going to say the word here since I don’t want to trigger anyone) 😭, I feel so ashamed that I don’t want people to know
It is often so hard when we have to manage pain as well as other issues @creative_writer😢
Just had a laugh at Clover and Toby chasing each other in the backyard LOL Toby must have worn himself out as he is now spread out on the couch next to me. Clover is still outside - it is her favourite place.
Do you have any plans for tomorrow Hon?

@Zoe7, I took my meds including antacid and had some soothing yoghurt. Human bodies are complex. The thing about meds is, they often have side effects. Right now I have no choice but to take them. I am literally on four types of meds for Bipolar. I’ve had to add in hay fever meds and now the antacid.
Seeing them chase each other would be funny. I’ve seen cat fights in my backyard, you always know when they are fighting because they are so loud. There are quite a few cats in my neighbourhood. I think people got pets during COVID.
I don’t really have plans for tomorrow. I don’t do Christmas, so the holiday period is pretty much the same as any other day. I think I probably should do some writing to get stuff out of my head. Maybe some poetry would be good. Using imagery and metaphors is more effective than simply describing my thoughts and feelings. What about you? What are your plans?

Yes it is such a fine balance sometimes with our meds - especially managing the mental and physical pain as well as the side effects.
I have to go out tomorrow some time to get one more thing for Christmas but it won't take me long. Then I will be chilling out for the rest of the day @creative_writer doing a little housework and lots of laying around.

Re: Oscillation between two mind sets
@Zoe7, it is a balance. My body may already be under pressure from my regular meds, which may mean I need to be cautious with what pain relief and how much or often I take it. Prevention is always better than reducing the pain. I know there are also other ways to manage pain, if the pain is not severe enough I might be able to use an alternative method.
I hope resting up helps you 💖. I don’t know about you, when I finished placement I felt a sense of relief, like I didn’t have work hanging over my head and that helped me feel calm by itself. You don’t know how much pressure you’ve been under until you get a break, but I do believe there is power of healing in breaks. I have a lot to work through emotionally before semester begins

Re: Oscillation between two mind sets
It has been a really hard couple of months only working half days @creative_writer My pain levels have significantly reduced since I had the injection but my leg, hip and foot still aches when I am on my feet for too long. Knowing I now can rest when needed and not have any commitments is good. It took me a few weeks to 'deal with' working part time and not being with the kids - that part I will miss but I really need the break.

@Zoe7, it is hard when you want to do so much more but are not able to. I am glad to hear that the injection helped. I hope by resting up, you are able to come out stronger for the year to come 💖

I know I can’t say this on here because it’s not appropriate. I’m trying to delete the “I am a ****” thought, but it’s not going away

Why will the thought not go away if it’s not based on fact?

I wish I could clean myself and feel clean but I can’t. The thoughts wont stop
