Sometimes I feel like I’m on top of things and don’t feel like my trauma defines me and I don’t feel so ashamed and scared. Other times I want to hide from the world and feel like a **** (I’m not going to say the word here since I don’t want to trigger anyone) 😭, I feel so ashamed that I don’t want people to know
@creative_writer aww nice one, I'm glad to hear you're taking those steps to look after yourself. Not always easy to do, but it does help 😊
Yeah absolutely! Holistic approach all the way. Everyone is different, will respond to different ideas and modalities, better to not get locked into one niche is my reckoning too.

@Jynx holistic is always good. The medical model can be too limiting, pathologising and stigmatising as a result.
I’m not even sure what happened. My back has been spasming today. Now I’m feeling something else too, but I’m not sure how it happened.

I’m in so much physical pain, finding it hard to ignore it

Re: Oscillation between two mind sets
Would you be open to practice mindfulness or 'noticing' to help with the pain @creative_writer ?

Re: Oscillation between two mind sets
@tyme I can try. I don’t know if it’s just this bug. My back is spasming and painful, my back doesn’t usually hurt this much. I don’t know if it’s the pain, I feel too weak on one side of my body, maybe lying down will help

@tyme, if this infection won’t settle I’m asking for antibiotics from a different GP. It’s been a good two weeks or more, and the GP said see how you go

Re: Oscillation between two mind sets
Anyone else have more than one narrative playing in their head. One narrative tells me I'm just a burden for hurting and that people love me only when I pretend. That people would just move on if I disappeared. It tells me I am damaged goods and forever broken. That I am responsible for this pain because if I worked harder I would be out of it already.
The other part of me says that it's not my fault that I have issues with mental illness, chronic physical pain and struggles with trauma. That it's okay to struggle, nobody's life is perfect. I know I'm doing what i can to get through the day.
I feel confused, I can't seem to reach a general consensus, it all feels so fragmented
