While in hospital

While in hospital

Today I wrote to the local hospital to complain about my treatment on the weekend.
When I first arrived in ED I was treated with care and empathy. Due to my physical complaint and my mental illness I was reassured each time a test was being done by the doctor. Then I was transferred to short stay unit. Again I was given great care. But during the night I got worse temp went sky high I was dehydrated snd almost fainted.
The nurse called a dr to come and see me. He was the rudest doctor I have ever had. He was short abrupt and said "oh you only have a cold". Had he checked my notes he would have seen I had to have a ct scan for possible blood clot. And that I had to speak to CAT team. And that the doctor in ED wrote down high heart rate and wheeze in chest. He spoke to me like I was a little kid.

I feel that because of my mental illness I wasn't treated right. I never want this doctor to treat me agsin. And it's the second time I've had him and both times he was terrible. No bedside manner at all. So after thinking about it today I decided to write and put my complain in writing. I don't need to be treated like this.

I'm hoping to hear back from the hospital.

Re: While in hospital

I'm doing well this morning. GP appointment in an hour. Bit worried about the long break before she comes back - thankful that I have the forum as backup

Having Christmas lunch at my place - small family gathering - not stressed about it at the moment - will leave the worry until tomorrow when inevitably I realise I haven't got everything I need!!!!!

Hopefully they will only be here for a couple of hours and I can kick them out before I get too agitated and anxious. Having lunch at my place does mean I don't have to travel anywhere however and won't be too worn out driving.

Hope you have a great Christmas day. Better go and get ready for appointment

@Former-Member I'm at beach struggling. Sobbing to lifeline. I don't know what to do. If I keep walking I won't stop. I'm scared. I'm not coping.

Thanks for checking in @BlueBay

What are some supports you have used before? Great that you have called lifeline. The help centre is here today too if you would like a chat, 1800 187 263.

Deep breaths, feel your feet in the sand or the ground, notice the smell of the air, listening to the waves, I'm here with you @BlueBay

Re: While in hospital

@BlueBay. Good morning my friend. I'm so glad you had a deep long sleep. Your body needs it. And it sounds like your body is getting back into a sleep routine.
Be careful when cleaning the upstairs - especially with dust and cleaning chemicals. Your airways are still weak. Do the bare minimum if you have to clean.
I hope you have taken Jersey with you if you have gone for a walk along the beach.
See if you can try not to think too much - not easy - but possible. Just sit and watch the waves. Over and over again. It can hekp to quiet the mind. Bringing moments of peace.
I'm off to my gp's soon. More test results today & will talk about my high bp & how I've had two episodes of low bp this past week. I may need a medication change.
Have a friend's partner coming around to help me cut down a few branches over hanging my roof. They have grown so much & are touching my air cooler - so I haven't been able to run the air con. And I'll need it for the next few days - mid to high 30's.
My friend is dropping her 5 year old off with me. I bought her mum a snall Christmas present for her to wrap and give to her mum. So I'll have to get some more sticky tape & glitter. She loves glitter. And I'll get her to make a card for her mum as well. We will cut iut Christmas pictures out of the junk mail & then paste them on to tge card. There is going to be glitter everywhere. Lol.
Thinking good thoughts for you. ♥♥
And a big comforting hug.

And here is an image of a Greek beach @BlueBay ... it's a pebble beach, but the pebbles are really fine, so they don't hurt your feet to walk on.

We will be in a seaside town in a couple of days, so I will send you an image of the actual beach there ....

Hugs from me .... 💙🐬🐚

Re: While in hospital

Thinking of you @BlueBay, try to relax and take deep breaths and enjoy the salty breeze, maybe focus on listening to the sounds of the waves and birds. Is there something nice you can get for lunch that is nearby?
