While in hospital

While in hospital

Today I wrote to the local hospital to complain about my treatment on the weekend.
When I first arrived in ED I was treated with care and empathy. Due to my physical complaint and my mental illness I was reassured each time a test was being done by the doctor. Then I was transferred to short stay unit. Again I was given great care. But during the night I got worse temp went sky high I was dehydrated snd almost fainted.
The nurse called a dr to come and see me. He was the rudest doctor I have ever had. He was short abrupt and said "oh you only have a cold". Had he checked my notes he would have seen I had to have a ct scan for possible blood clot. And that I had to speak to CAT team. And that the doctor in ED wrote down high heart rate and wheeze in chest. He spoke to me like I was a little kid.

I feel that because of my mental illness I wasn't treated right. I never want this doctor to treat me agsin. And it's the second time I've had him and both times he was terrible. No bedside manner at all. So after thinking about it today I decided to write and put my complain in writing. I don't need to be treated like this.

I'm hoping to hear back from the hospital.

Hi @BlueBay

It's just as if you had a huge operation to have your mother removed - massive work - actually - I could see that coming but I couldn't tell you

You will sometimes still feel sad and confused - I do - why did my mother have to be like that - [feel like shedding a few tears now]

And once you sell that house and get a smaller one you can afford - and you are able to get back to work - life will be so much better - and your kids are getting on with their own lives and you can do what you need to when it comes to rebuilding your marriage

Why does it have to be so hard? Why do some people seem to have it so easy - Interesting - I don't know if people have it so easy. It would be like trying to hold the tide back to control life for some people - like TS for example

She has so much and so many people in her life - but inside she must feel very lost and small and obviously she is damaged. Why does she want my family as well as her own? - it gets to me at times and it's wrong of her so I have to let it be - and I wish it was that easy

But truly I believe that having life hard right now means an easier trip into the process of aging - I vouch for that - things and their values change

I pray for a good 2017 for all of us

Lots of virtual hugs

Re: While in hospital

I'm sick of everything at the moment. My psych decided to stop my new med has only been a week. I'm really angry with him with the hospital closing. I'm over my life. I'm so exhausted and mentally drained. I need sleep. But no one gives a shit here so I don't care if I live or die. I'm just so over everything. My life is one struggle day in day out. I can't tske anymore of this crap. No one here listens. My psych thinks 4 hrs of sleep is enough. What a joke. I hate him hate the hospital and it's the worse admission ever.

Re: While in hospital

@BlueBay. I hate to say it at this time of year - but I really think you should look into getting a new Psychiatrist. A medication should be tried for at least a month - minimum. I don't understand why he keeps putting you on a med and then takes you off it so quickly or messes with the dose.
You'll be heading home today. Sleeping in your own bed will be good - might help you sleep a bit longer and deeper.
And you and hubby or Jersey can go for walks along the beach and get some sea air.
Try and focus on one good thing. Just one. Maybe Jersey.
Am thinking of you and sending you a hug.♥♥

@utopia @Decadian @Faith-and-Hope @Change123 @oceangirl @Shaz51 and all my other beautiful friends (sorry can't remember all on my iPhone)
I am home now. Sad to leave the other patients. I had to get a script filled and then hubby and one son had coffee at local cafe.
I did the washing of my clothes and cleaned the kitchen sink and then wAtered the garden which I really enjoy.
I ended up sweeping kitchen as floor was disgusting. But now I'm sitting on the deck feeling sick. I just had two slight dizzy spells. Hubby is about to go and buy dinner. I'm not doing anything else tonight. I'm so exhausted.

Re: While in hospital

Rest ... @BlueBay ....

You have been through an emotional storm ... and did some physical work to help burn off some of that adrenaline .... now it's a time to rest it seems ... and it sounds like your body is asking that of you too ... and you have probably used up all your immediate glucose-energy and need time to release some more into your system. Eating dinner will help to do that.

Rest ... and try to be in the moment as yo eat ... actually tasting the food and thinking about its textures .... thinking about how it feels to be eating, and nourishing yourself ... instead of focussing on other thoughts .... ground yourself a little in the moment.

❤️🤗 Hugs ....

Bloody oath .. glad that man of yours is getting take out tonight.

Glad he took your hand .. and reassured you .. maybe something is getting through to him .. maybe he is waking up to the fact that he could lose the most valuable thing in his life ...

Re: While in hospital

Thank you @Faith-and-Hope I did rest. I had dinner, then felt like a little walk down the beach with Jersey so we did that and then I crashed. I took my sleeping tablet and went to bed. I slept all night, didn't hear a peep. Didn't hear my son come home, or my husband leave for work this morning. I had a full solid night sleep. Woke up about 6am but fell back to sleep and then woke up about 8.15am.

Having breakfast while on here, 2 kids have left for work. So I think I will quickly have a shower and go for a walk, i think on my own down the beach. I need to reflect a bit on this year and what I hope and dream for next year. I just dont know if I will break down again at the beach, but oh well if i do i do. and if i struggle i call someone.

@Appleblossom

I really think that this time my husband has been me without my guard up and seen my cry, be so emotional and i guess i need him to be the strong one when i am so down.

@utopia

Need to correct my post to you. after reading it again this morning I realised what i wrote was partly true. Because my psych said 'oh lets stop the d........ meds' I'm thinking in my head wtf are you saying, you just put me on them and now you want me to stop, after all the tests and waiting to start it you decide to stop it.

Then he asks me what do i think? - WTF you are the psychiatrist, I pay you so you should know what's best for your patient, i have no f... idea i am too emotional and tired to make a decision. So i turned around and said 'whatever you want to do, i really don't care'. by my tone and body language he knew i was so pissed off. I then said to him why not miss the lunchtime dose and see how i go at night with sleep. He says 'oh yeah i am happy with that, why don't you take 2 tablets in the morning. So i had to make the suggestion!!!

i then told him that i rang his rooms and couldn't see him until middle of Feb. and that i was angry becaue that is too long tyo wait. he then comes up with 'ok i will see you on the 10 jan' which is his last day before he goes on leave.

I am still struggling this morning to even go and have a shower, but i will and i will go for my beach walk.

chat again later to everyone. xxxooo

Re: While in hospital

@BlueBay. Stop saying "I don't care" to this psych. Telk him to sort out the meds and keep regular appointments with you and in between appointment to ph you.

Re: While in hospital

You're right @utopia I need to be more assertive. I will work on this. I had a call from psychologist to see me today she had a cancellation. So I'm going in at 1pm. I so need a chat.
