Sounds like a wonderful pet @Melanie-cat

Hi and welcome to the forum. Its great you said hello.

Sometimes people are put off and dont want to interupt a long social thread, but I, for one, and probably most people would be glad for people to drop and in say hello and join the conversation. I would rather that, than people feeling left out and isolated, not letting us know they were reading or how they were feeling. Sometimes just reading is enough. It all depends ...

@Zoe7 It helps to be recognised and treated with care. It is a hard call to make the call and come to terms with pets getting old and sick.
My son recently said our vet was better than his health care team. I have been with the one clinic for 18 years and it is a teaching animal hospital. I chose it and it is not cheap as another way of educating him too. She has been good and thorough and my cat is still on his meds, but getting good attention and doing very well for his age and stage.

We have not "spoken" a lot recently, but I feel for you and we keep on with our artistic pursuits. Feeding our souls and finding a wholesome path, though I am feeling flat and sad atm.

I passed my audtition yesterday. I was poorly prepared because I could not settle on a song and chose something on last day that was difficult. It was not a great rendering, but it reflected how I honestly felt. It is a Hungarian poem translated and put to music by Kodaly. There are not many youtubes only instrumental versions.
Here are the words:
The fields shimmer
The fields are high with waving golden grain
Where a few short lives ago
lay blood in dappled stain
Spilled, not once but many times
Red, like crimson rain
But pain does slip away,
on many long years born
Anf leave us 'neath a cloudless sky
that hushes the spirit as still
as the ripening corn.
I got it from someone who sang it in an audition where I was part of the panel choosing.
My conductor was good and genuine, said the song was "interesting" ...
I have usually done reasonably well, but rarely been able to enjoy it as there are too many important things going on around me in the lives of my loved ones. I went to dads grave after the audition, and talked to him and sis, enjoyed an old tree and remembered playing under it with my brother. I had panicky thoughts about if I did not pass etc ., but I did.

Hope you all have a good day.
