@Zoe7 I'm so pleased it wasnt something I'd said. It had been worrying me no end. I know everything is really difficult for you at present, but I hope you are able to find some moments of joy today. Sending much love and care to you. And please give Tobes a big hug from me and Cat a gentle tummy tickle .. from me.

@Melanie-cat Hello and welcome to Sane forums. I love the picture you posted of the dog. Is that your puppy? Gorgeous, and ever so sweet picture. My dog is my profile picture, she's a sweetie too. No longer a puppy though, she's almost 11yo. Great to see you posting a couple of new threads, as well as contributing to discussions on existing threads. You are always welcome anywhere you chose to tread.

@Faith-and-Hope Thank you my lovely friend, always so caring, always there. Forever grateful for you. 😔🌹 @Shaz51 too. 💖

@Faith-and-Hope @Former-Member @Maggie @Appleblossom @Sans911 @CheerBear @Melanie-cat and others following along...

I have Toby booked in for his annual check up this afternoon. I rang this morning as soon as the vet opened. Coincidentally the person that answered the phone was Toby and Cat's vet. The first thing she asked was 'how was I' - so lovely of her. We are going to talk about Cat when I take Toby in.

For @Melanie-cat so you know what is happening - my cat who we call Cat here is not well. The vet found a large mass that is likely lymphoma - I have to decide whether to operate to remove the mass or treat with medication to just make her comfortable for whatever time she has left ...it is a decision I have been agonising over for the last few days since we found this out.

@Faith-and-Hope No not where I wanted to be with the garage but did work in there a little yesterday - it helped take my mind off Cat for a little while. I got the shelves all reconstructed (they are a simple click in system) so now they are the right heights to store the boxes I have. I also got the trailer packed with the snails and minions - and partly tied down so nothing can blow away. Toby spent most of the time laying at the front gate when he was not supervising me. He is such a good guard dog 🐶

I am going to go back out there this morning to fill in time before the vet this afternoon. I still have to get all the timber stacked in the driveway moved onto the shelves and it is supposed to rain here again today so the quicker I can do that the better. It rained a little yesterday but it is all dry today so it can be moved.

I really am just holding it together - have to for Cat but I suspect after I see the vet this afternoon I may fall in a heap with whatever we decide. It will be good to have Toby with me though - he certainly does keep me going.

I hope you have a good day at uni and are doing okay yourself - as you could imagine I am not much help to anyone at the moment but thinking about everyone. Being here is hard ....being anywhere is hard ...so sending my love and hugs to those that need one and wishing life was different for all of us

@Melanie-catwelcome to the forums, and what a thoughtful, sweet post. I'm so grateful for these forums where I can be freer to express some of my thoughts and emotions. Yes, we form close relationships and bonds with others, but there is always room for new faces and friendships.

Re: Far and Away

@Zoe7 I'm so sorry to hear about Cat. Ive been a cat person (ok, a dog person too! but a cat person first) all my life. Cats are family, deep in our hearts. When they are ill or dying, it hurts so much. I'm sending you safe warm long-distance hugs, and also the same to Cat. You both need all the cuddles you can get I think.

Re: Far and Away

Funny you should say that about being a cat person @Melanie-cat I still find it fascinating that I have a dog as I have always been a cat person too. My little Toby is a blessing though and I am so fortunate to have such a wonderful little companion in him and of course Cat. Sometimes I think their roles are swapped - Cat behaves more like a dog and Toby more like a cat - Toby is a smoocher and loves to curl up on my lap or right beside me ...you may often see me here refer to him as my shadow because wherever I go he is right there with me. Cat of course just does her own thing (as cats do) but gets cuddles morning and nght. They are both the lights in my life.

@Sans911 I know you get how hard it is with the difficulties you have had with Jasper. He is certainly a little fighter though and has gotten through so much. I'll let you know how it goes this afternoon and what my decision is after talking to the vet again.

Re: Far and Away

@Zoe7 Yes they are the lights of our lives 🙂 I had a cat who used to "fetch" like a dog, and carry beef bones in his mouth - he was so butch, but a total fuzzball of cuddles too... with a purr that you could hear ten feet away 🙂 They're so precious...
