Re: Far and Away

Nothing seems to worry Mags inside her flat @Zoe7 so, no, storms don’t worry her at all.

I hope they don’t muck you around waiting for a position next year. I know how hard waiting is, having done nothing but wait this year. I think it’s the uncertainty, not knowing feeling.

I have a black and white cat visitor each evening @Zoe7 . He finishes off what the birds leave of my meals. Very strange likes. Very cute cat. He sits and looks in the glass door, but runs away as soon as I move a muscle.😁😁

Re: Far and Away

Some cats are funny creatures like that @Maggie Inquisitive but aloof with people they dont know. They certainly like their food though

You certainly have been continually messed around and have been waiting so very long for housing news. It is not good enough - the system here is very much broken - much like our health system ...and the education system is not far behind either They throw out so many platitudes and supposed improvements but never fix the underlying issues - and that is lack of resources and so many people being affected. I know the workload alone in teaching has contiued to increase and there has been a big push for mental wellbeing but it is just on paper - very little actual support at the coal face.

Re: Far and Away

That’s the problem @Zoe7 nothing reaches those who need help. There was something about teaching in Australia not long ago, being behind other parts of the world. It’s tragic for present teachers and students. It must be frustrating for you and those who do actually care.

Yes, even though I had the big meeting last week, I’m not hopeful at all. I wonder if it’s more empty words, with no action behind them. Unfortunately, nowhere else to turn there for me now, just more waiting.

Scott Morrison seems more interested in sending people from the moon to mars, than he does in fixing the Australians living on the streets, or anywhere else. The $$$$$$ speaks.

Re: Far and Away

I totally agree @Maggie and was disgusted at just how much money is being thrown into those things when we have so many people living on the streets, needing housing, health care and basic human needs. It is time for the government to think about the reality of living and looking after our own 'backyard' first. While I am at it - they turn away those needing refuge also but can thrown millions of dollars into space exploration - priorities and basic human kindness is lost in government - if that money was spent building houses then it would also provide jobs as well as decrease our ever increasing homeless issue. It is disgusting how people are treated and the amount of red tape they need to navigate to get the basic necessities of life - yet we still also have large multi-national companies not paying taxes here - just not acceptable!

Re: Far and Away

Yes, I feel for the family caught up atm with red tape. 2 small children, and the possibility of being returned to a war torn land. It’s down right cruelty @Zoe7 I believe there is enough food to feed us all, people and animals, people just won’t share. Greedy and callous. I’m on one of my soap boxes @Zoe7 . Though I’m not a people person, I care deeply about them, and the animals we need also. I love our planet, and hope it’s there for future generations, oops, another soap box.

I had better prepare for painting. I won’t go until I know my neighbour is actually there today.

Nice chatting @Zoe7 take care this afternoon. 💜💜💜☕️☕️☕️ Tea.

Re: Far and Away

Rather than getting out to do things I slept again @Faith-and-Hope @Maggie Still so very tired though. I think I will only get to the supermarket now but that can wait until later. I have a little fluffball curled up on the couch cushion behind my head so not moving far right now 🐶

I hope your neighbour turned up for you today @Maggie and you are enjoying some painting time.

Also hope church was good for you today @Faith-and-Hope and your afternoon is going well

Re: Far and Away

You obviously need the rest/sleep @Zoe7 I can see Mr Toby curled up by your head. 😍

Yes my neighbour did turn up. She forgot to tell me she would be out yesterday. All good there. Just got home and having a rest myself. She’s a happy camper. 💜💕💜

Take care of yourself tonight @Zoe7 💕💜💕☕️☕️☕️Tea.

Re: Far and Away

So pleased your neighbour turned up today @Maggie

I had to move Toby to go out to the supermarket - so that is done now. I left the back door open as Cat was still outside sleeping in the dog kennel and I didn't have the heart to wake her - she looks so cosy sleeping in the sun that is coming through the door. She is still out there but I suspect she will be inside soon looking for her dinner

I thought about having a shower but then why waste water hey lol Went to the shop in half my jammies - I at least change into my tracksuit and put a long jacket on I have also got the washing in and folded everything. Next is the washing up but there is not much there so it won't take long. Tobes has been outside but is back next to me now - such a smoocher 🐶

Re: Far and Away

Aww @Zoe7 cat in the kennel and sun, they know where to go.

Jammies it is all round @Zoe7 . I did change to paint, but back in the comfy stuff now.

I have washing up waiting, but it won’t happen tonight, no much either.

What are you having for tea? I’ve had some toast with butter and vegimite. My girl likes butter only. 😁😁👍👍
