Far and Away

I hope you find your way back too @Zoe7 . I know I'm not the only one to miss your lovely presence. Confidence in oneself can be a hard thing to recover ... once lost. But one of many gifts you possess, and have the delightful ability to bestow upon others, is understanding and a naturally supportive nature. You give so much of yourself to others. I have no doubt you will find your feet here again should you wish to do so.

Im glad to hear you are seeing your psych again next week. Its been too long. I saw mine last week too.

Thanks @Former-Member It is super hard in life right now - I know you get that yourself I don't really have anything to give to anyone so a little contact wiith just a few people is all I can do. I am of course pleased to have @Faith-and-Hope back but don't even feel I can give her the support right now either ...but having her back has led me back here for the time being ...still hard to be here though. I honestly thought having her back would bring me back also but it hasn't been the case - some things are too hard to come back from whther we want to or not. Time will tell I suppose but not sure how long that will be or even if it will help

It’s a rollercoaster @MDT .... tonnes to enjoy, but so locked into my mr’s mi and the effects of it, and the “family of origin” behaviours that support it, that it’s a conflict of values, and managing random hostile flare-ups, and navigating damage control, the whole time too. It’s hard to turn off hyper-vigilance under those circumstances.

There was a lot of opportunity to go on sight-seeing tours, sometimes with my kids, but not of interest to other family members, so that was a form of respite, which was good, but also becomes a bit lonely.

Its best to stay focused on the special stuff cos there’s not much can be done about the rest, but the special stuff is worth celebrating if you learn how to separate it out enough ..... which also means choosing who to share talk about it with, and how much to tell.

The differences in values and ideas means that you can get a totally disinterested shut-down response, or a ridiculing one.

So yeah .... enjoyed a lot of it .... but .... gotta take the bad with the good.

Haha .... thanks @MDT. Mostly it just feels like survival rather than wisdom, but that’s nice .... 💕 .... and you are probably right .... a learned wisdom.
