Thanks for the many love hearts last night @Faith-and-Hope It was lovely to wake up to Not a great night but not surprising eith so much going over snd over in my mind. Just need to get through today at work and then get home to rest later today. Hopefully I will wake up a bit more after a shower and I have morning duty so that will help as well being in the cooler air.

How was your evening?

Re: Far and Away

Morning @Zoe7 .... 💚💐

It was a work evening, keeping company with D3, so taking baby steps into my visual diary work. The result of each chunk is satisfying, as long as I keep my mind from focusing on what is not done yet.

I dint have classes this mornung, and thinking in systems the way I tend to, I am trying to get into a pattern of tail-ending the day’s classes with a visual diary update, and then focussing only on the diary work for the next class that is coming up ..... and the diary work for this afyernoon’s class has been left way behind ..... so you can see that the system is still not off the ground properly.

I have been keeping a sleeve of bits and pieces for each class, especially as the diary tasks have to be (are best presented at least) in order, so if there is a hold-up on completing something, it all stops for that subject.

Some of the work is studio stuff, and some is research. The research is holding up the studio stuff, and the research relies on everything being settled enough to focus on it and get it done.

You can see how that gets wobbly .....

Yes I can see that @Faith-and-Hope But one step at a time with the reseach work - you will get it done Hon you have a plan in place which is a start.

Hope you have a productive morning snd can cstch up a little before your afternoon class

Re: Far and Away

Thanks @Zoe7 . By the nature of it, you’re always working a week or so behind the current class and studio work with the visual diaries, but I am lagging a few weeks behind with some ..... not all. Things are settled enough to be able to do the catch-up now, but as you said, in baby steps.

If I get stressed about it, I am not enjoying being in the moment with the work, the process ..... and that is as important to me as what I am learning in studio, and achieving in qualifications.

Enjoy the cool morning air. Think I will open a window here too .....

I will be thinking of you across the day Hon.

Re: Far and Away

It was lovely to get to work and get your message when I had a spare few minutes this morning @Faith-and-Hope

I totally hear you with the process being just as important as the final product and qualifications Hon. It is the process where you fully immerse yourself in the art and the final product is a cilmination of that process and what you have learnt. Sometimes we are too focussed on the qualifications and are not at all mindful enough of how we got there. You certainly have it all in the right order.

It was extremely cold this morning on duty - had my hood up on my jacket - I must have looked like a snowman lol but my ears were freezing off my head

The morning class was okay - more testng with the kids and the time passes quite quickly doing that. The rest of the day was all over the place - classes at learn to swim, I did an extra duty to help out the teachers who had just come back from learn to swim, one class changing their music time so I was there when they were at music so couldn't do anything with the kids I was supposed to take and then really sitting around not being able to do anything for the remainder of the afternoon.

Glad to be home today - was very tired this morning but feeling a little better this afternoon. It was a tough night and I really struggled to get moving this morning but I made it to work on time and got through the day. Lots of fur baby cuddles when I got home which always makes me smile.

How did your afternoon class go?

Re: Far and Away

Afternoon class was life drawing, which I love @Zoe7 .

I am glad today was okay for you. Apart from the fact that you are enjoying the work for the most part ..... every day you’re there you’re getting paid 😊. So good ❣️

You have come so far in leaps and bounds without even realising it I think. It’s when I look back at how you were managing a year ago that it all stands out so much. 💐💕

Re: Far and Away

oooh life drawing @Faith-and-Hope right up your alley Hon

I know I have come a long way and every day I get through work adds a little more to that progress. This time last year there was no possibility I would ever get back to work so in a pretty short space of time things changed a lot. Some of that was the stability finally in meds - and subsequently sleep ...but I wouldn't have even got to that point without you guys here. I know I have said it many times before but the support I had here made so much difference to my life and I am truly grateful for you and others on here.

Life is so much more stable but I do still have my down times - last night was one of those but I did get through it better than I would have a year ago. I could quite easily have stayed asleep all day today but I had to go to work - actually thought about calling in sick today but I didn't and I went and got through the day. Tomorrow is another day then the weekend will be here and I can rest then.

Attagirl @Zoe7 ....

That’s the thing my baby dragons have to do, get uo

and into the day instead of rolling over and staying in bed. It can be really hard sometimes. It’s inportant to develop that positive self-talk like you have written here, that you made it through the day anyway, and there is only one more like that to get to the weekend.

Re: Far and Away

Your baby dragons will get there but it will take a lot of re-learning as well as those positive feelings about getting up and going to uni @Faith-and-Hope It is super hard to get out of that routine of sleeping in (or when you feel like it) and getting into the routine of work/uni. They are getting to uni sometimes and getting some work done. As their confidence improves so will hopefully their attendance - it is a catch 22 though as achieving in their repsective courses could aid in their confidence but one cannot happen without the other - especially for S2 with what he went through at the previous uni.
