Any good churches to visit there? Did you go this morning? Love ancient architecture and history. Churches are great for it. Hugz xox

Hi @Zoe7 @Shaz51 @Former-Member .....

I have been getting work done this afternoon and evening. S2 asked me to work near him this weekend as he is doing assessments due in tonight. I stopped to eat something and now D3 has asked me to sit with her to get her started on an assignment she needs to do. Somehow, just having someone sitting in the background seems to ground them enough to get into their work, and once started they carry on with it.

It sounds like procrastination, but in fact it’s fear of failure and wanting to shut down or avoid.

I will need to get back to the art space soon and get on with my own work though.

Re: Far and Away

Your such a good mumma F&H @Faith-and-Hope . Hopefully over time they will be able to start on their own and learn to ground themselves. But I do understand their fear. I think you and your baby dragons have a great relationship.

Goodluck with your artwork F&H @Faith-and-Hope

Thanks so much @oceangirl .... that’s lovely to hear

We had a bout of baby dragon fire earlier, but they’recovered wuite qiickly, identified their trigger, apologised (but not really) and simmered down.

I was just grateful for the simmered-down part really .....

Heading to bed.

G’night 💤

@Shaz51 Cat and Toby have many aunties here and happy to share them with you all 😺🐶

@Faith-and-Hope It is great that S2 and D3 are getting into their work even if they need that company from you to do so. Hope you got into your own work eventually as well

Up super early today but went to bed early last night so had enough sleep altogether. Woken a couple of times again throughout the night which isn't ideal but went back to sleep pretty quickly. Not really looking forward to work but know I will be okay once I get there and get started.

@Former-Member How did the cricket end up?

Hope you all have a good day and can find those little moments of happiness to hold onto

Re: Far and Away

Morning @Zoe7 - hope today is a good day at work for you. The cricket? The Bushrangers beat the Blues, the VICs being too good with the ball the main problem I think. Pattinson was bowling particularly well, as was Siddle. The NSWmen had no answer.

Hi @Faith-and-Hope I too hope you managed to catch up with some of your own work. There is always a great sense of relief and satisfaction when you can tick off something off the 'must do' list. Your baby dragons are so lucky to have you.

Hello @Shaz51 @Sans911 @oceangirl - Hope each of your respective days are as good as possible.

I've awoken very early this morning with my headache back again. Cannot blame drinking this time either, as I had none. Perhaps I am actually coming down with something, or maybe just a tension headache. Very hard to get moving this morning I know that much. But I'd better try I guess. Will start by waking up hubby to give him his pre-breakfast meds.

Try to catch you all later.

Sherry

Re: Far and Away

Had a pretty good day today - a lot of my regular timetable was thrown into disarray by learn to swim but I filled the time in by going into another class and helping out another teacher for the afternoon. The time went pretty quickly when I was fully occupied.

I did some drawing for the kids to make finger puppets this morning so that was kind of cool.

Haooy to be home with the sun still out and my fur babies playing outside for a little while before their dinner.

@Former-Member You did say that NSW weren't going very well so I am not surprised Vc won. Hope your headache has gone throughout the day and you have managed to do what you need to do

@Faith-and-Hope Hope you had a good day at uni and got some work done last night. I can't believe it is nearly the end of first term here - the time really has gone quickly - it feels like we only just went back last week - think I am well and truly over the tiredness I was feeling a few weeks back but am still looking forward to the holidays.

Re: Far and Away

Hi @Zoe7

I am sorry, I missed this post somehow, and you have likely gone to bed by now.

I did get quite a lot of work done last night, and went to bed late, but was unsettled and unable to sleep. I think I dozed off about 2am, setting my alarm for 8:30 and closing the curtains to sleep till then ...... mr. is not coming through to the bathroom during the night, I asked him a couple of days ago, but this morning he came into the office nook in our room at 7am, didn’t he ?! ...., so I am a bit short on for sleep.

Then tonight turned messy. I don’t want to write what he has done, but it’s something that brings mil’s values squarely into the middle of our family, when I have been trying to keep them out for our whole married life. He is living those values now, and trying to draw our kids into them. There is nothing I can do about it now that the kids are grown. It comes down to the values they have taken on board for themselves, but he is trying to press them into that mold by dangling things in front of them.

It sucks. It’s part of our raw deal. Tears tonight, turning the page tomorrow ..... keeping on swimming .......
