A challenge I would think 😕 Hope this is a time yo rekindle some first love maybe.
Any good churches to visit there? Did you go this morning? Love ancient architecture and history. Churches are great for it. Hugz xox

Re: Far and Away

There is something called a model of change that is often used with illness such as addictions @Zoe7 . It was shared by one of the mods when I was in my early days here. I will see if I can find it for you, but it talks about Precontemplaton being the first, and generally longest stage, where the person has no real consciousness of having a problem. When they begin to move to the Contemplation stage they begin to get a bit of an idea that there might be something wrong .... and in that state they can start to become less defensive and more agreeable .....

It is also possible for them to swing back and forward between stages too .... and maybe some people can only move from Precontemplation once there is an intervention, diagnosis, or some other form of wake-up call.

Maybe having some of his family there a couple of weeks ago has also lit a fire that others can see that not all is right with him too @Faith-and-Hope It is so obvious to everyone else that what he has been trying to do within the family structure has not been working for everyone - so hoping he is looking from the outside a bit more and realising some of that for himself. Whatever is happening for him at the moment it is a nice break for you having him more open to consultation and discussions.

I think mr. has had sonething of a wake-up call last week @Zoe7 . Someone was able to get through to him that one of the dragons had been struggling behind the scenes more than he had been aware of .... and he hadn’t been aware of them because he was too focussed on the ones at home, and on mil, not to mention his own all-day regimen and travel wants ..... and I know he is crest-fallen to have missed realising / seeing it.

Re: Far and Away

Hey @Faith-and-Hope I am home and although I wasn't out for a long time it was a nice evening. Everyone was very welcoming (but I am getting used to that )

I sat quietly and didn't say much but that is who I am so it is nothing unusual. I talked a little with those sitting at my end of the table but not much - mostly listened. I didn't really enjoy the meal but the company made up for it. I am glad I went and pushed through the anxiety I had. I got a lift home with one of the other teachers who lives close - she had to go out of her way to bring me home but seemed happy to give me a lift so I was very grateful.

Tomorrow is going to be hot here - as it is going to be for you over there - so happy to spend the day inside with the air con on and snuggled with the fluffball - think I will need the rest after a big day and night.

Do you have anything planned for the weekend?

Re: Far and Away

Hi @Zoe7 .

That sounds like it was lovely, and the nature of these teachers was just as caring out socially as it is at school. Great job you ❣️

We we went to the movies tonight, and brought some take away dinner home from food stalls nearby, as everyone was tired. The kids were so tired they were goofing around all

over the place. Hubby looks so gaunt. Sigh. He was wearing a singlet-top, his condition not very disguised.

The movie vie was sci-fi.
