Thanks @Faith-and-Hope, how's your adventure going? Is there a particular thread your putting updates? Jetlag takes about a week to settle I'm told, and I'm sure there's son Celtic wisdom to get over your post viral fatigue How's WH coping with his obcessive routines while travelling? A challenge I would think 😕 Hope this is a time yo rekindle some first love maybe.
Any good churches to visit there? Did you go this morning? Love ancient architecture and history. Churches are great for it. Hugz xox

Hadn't thought to start a new thread ....

In transit again today and have to go again now .... found a brief moment with wifi .... will catch you later and answer the above.

Re: Far and Away

I have been out all day since quite early @Zoe7 (and anyone else around 👋) ..... still out now cos Visual has a late class and I am parked up in the library, chatting with you 😊

It was great to see my friend this morning, but the time was a bit short .... still, there is always next week cos she is in a different course now, but the same uni.

Class was good, but the day has been hot and everyone seems to be lying around like wet rags .... me included.

My chat with the therapist went well I think. She has agreed to an initial consult anyway, so we will take it from there, and see how it goes. I hope it is the support I need. I think, in a nutshell, I am just looking to have someone walk along with me as the road becomes increasingly steeper.

Enough of me .... I am

glad to hear you had a reasonable day despite the headache, and I sure hope it’s gone by tomorrow. Hot weather certainly doesn’t help ..... perhaps a cool treat of some sort will ? I have some cold watermelon in the fridge at home, if Visual hasn’t eaten it all .... lol

Re: Far and Away

I am really pleased you caught up with your friend this morning @Faith-and-Hope Even though it was only for a short time those are the type of external interactions that you need Hon

I am just as pleased to hear Visual is at uni today - there are definitely some positive moves in the right direction for her

It has been hot here today too but not too bad in the class I was in. We had the ceiling fan going and that provided a bit of relief for the afternoon.

The most pleasing part of your post was hearing that you made contact with the therapst and that she has agreed to an intitial consult. I really hope for you that this becomes an ongoing thing and that you both click also. You do really need that outlet - just someone you can talk about everything with - especially when things seem overwhelming for you. You do so well to navigate the negativity yourself but having that person there that you can unload it all to is crucial so you don't take it all on yourself. Sooooo happy for you Hon - I really hope it works out for you

I have eaten dinner and actually feel a little better - headache still there but nausea has decreased. I have some planning I need to get done but might do that in the morning - that will mean I need to get up earlier but as I think it will be an early night I should be able to manage that.

Going to be a long day tomorrow but I don't have an early appointment on Wednesday so I can sleep in - at least until the fur babies wake me up anyway lol How is your evening looking? Anything planned?

Re: Far and Away

Visual is cooking tonight @Zoe7 , and she likes preparing and eating Asian food, so we are looking for an Asian supermarket on our way home. She has found three within our flight path ....,

Re: Far and Away

I do like Asian myself so we have something in common I used to make a lot of stirfrys but haven't good one for a while - eating a lot of salads these days and way less meat ...because it doesn't always agree with me and it is too expensive @Faith-and-Hope

The staff are going out for dinner on Friday night and I would like to go but not sure I can afford it - might ask my sister for a loan so I can go but will see how I am later in the week also.

Re: Far and Away

I hope you do go @Zoe7 . I think it would be good for you, and I think your sister would agree ....

Re: Far and Away

Yeah I think you are right on both fronts. I haven't been out with people that weren't my family for a very long time - think there is a bit of anxiety rearing it's head and stopping me making that commitment. I don't need to decide until Wednesday but as I am not at work then I will need to tell them tomorrow. Should just do it hey Hon - I might even enjoy myself lol @Faith-and-Hope

Re: Far and Away

You might @Zoe7 😊

And you can always excuse yourself early if you find it’s not your cup of tea .... which is usual to most people. Reminding you of that to hopefully reduce self-consciousness about it if you do choose to leave early.

Re: Far and Away

Yes @Zoe7 ... I agree with you. Just do it! It sounds like your fellow teachers are a lovely bunch, and I really do think you could enjoy the outing with your colleagues. I hope your sister could lend you the money needed. Are you paid fortnightly or monthly?

Hi @Faith-and-Hope ... well done with chasing up a local psych/counsellor. Some much needed support and hopefully an understanding ear for you. I hope your initial enthusiasm that she sounds good, proves accurate. Did you say when you have an initial consult? Sorry .. I may have missed that. My attention span and concentration ability is somewhat lacking right now.

Re: Far and Away

You are right ...as always @Faith-and-Hope

I'll put my name down tomorrow and then give my sister a call tomorrow night. I am sure she would want me to go too and would be grumpy with me if I didn't go just because I couldn't afford it at the moment. She already knows I am struggling a bit right now but I will back in front again in a couple of pays so I will be able to pay her back then too.

Re: Far and Away

There is paperwork to start with in the process of setting up the initial consult @Former-Member , and I have put the cart before the horse a bit by finding my own therapist, then going to my dr. to let them know .... lol
