Re: Far and Away

Having Toby has really changed my life @CheerBear and as we all know here been a life saver as well. I would not be here still if I didn't have him and Cat. He is very cute around my sister too - he really does love her and wants lots of attention off her when she is here. ...and she gives him the attention because she loves him too. It is quite funny because I play with her dog and she occupies Toby's time when they are at my plce together. She has a bulldog and he is completely ball obsessed and comes straight to me with a ball I have for him here. I am not sure whether they will bring him today because there is so much that needs to be done but he will be okay in the backyard if they do bring him.

I better get myself moving soon or I won't get everything done - first job is get dressed - can't get the garage done in my jammies (mind you it wouldn't be the first time I have done outside work in my jammies lol)

@CheerBear I hope your post pickle issues settle quickly - good that you have a GP visit in a couple of days - good time to discuss how you are feeling about everything too. Thinking of you will how this has impacted you Hon

Re: Far and Away

Been outside already and pulled up some weeds and made a space near the garage shed to stack things as we get them out of the garage @Faith-and-Hope @CheerBear

Going to lay down a tarp over the grass and weeds that remain to put things on. Going to need to move the trailer closer to the driveway (at the moment it is on the street because the driveway is stacked with timber). I need to drain some water out of it then can begin placing all the rubbish in there. I also have quite a bit of pruning to be done around the garden so it will be easier to move it to the trailer if it is closer to the driveway.

It is not warm today but a good temperature to be moving around a lot which is good because there is a lot to get done. Next job after putting the tarp down is to begin pulling things out of the garage. I can do some of it by myself but will need help with the rest. See how I go in the next couple of hours - might need a rest before my sister and her partner get here this afternoon.

Re: Far and Away

Hi @Faith-and-Hope and @CheerBear

Jumped on FB when I came in from doing the garage roof and had a message from my FB friend. He even offered to help do the wall with me. I didn't accept the offer but did say if I needed help I would let him know. It is more that I don't want him to know where I live until I do meet him. I am okay going to his place but for now I need my home to be my sanctuary. I did offer to help him with the painting and he has said that he would like the company but not necessarily the help. ....so I have said that I will let him know tomorrow how I am going with the garage wall and then hopefully come Wednesday I will be more available to visit him. This is - as you can imagine - a huge step for me so while it is a little exciting it is also very scary. It might give me extra incentive to get the wall done though.

You will probaby read on ANC but it is great to have the roof done and my sister did a fair bit of weeding for me and it looks amazing where she did it. I am so grateful to have the help. There is a lot more that needs to be done but it is a start. My priority is the garage for now then I can get stuck into the garden again - it has been such wonderful weather this year for growing so many of the roses need to be cut back as they have become somewhat overgrown and then I can trim back some of the other shrubs as well.

I suspect you are both doing cartwheels on my behalf today lol - I would too if I had the energy Lots happening here and it is all very exciting and very scary at the same time - onwards and upwards hey!

Re: Far and Away

So great to hear about the roof and your productive exciting day @Zoe7!

Yay with friend! If I wasn't in a ball of pain and misery, wondering where to find the energy I need to get everything done here, I'd be jumping around doing cartwheels for you 🙂 Very sensible with friend and meeting him away from your home, at least initially. So exciting to be thinking a meet up is getting close now! I think one of the tricky things about meeting people in the way you have, is the thought of that first meeting and whether the 'click' will still be there in person. Once you get that over with some nerves might settle, though I get that some other scary feelings might take some time to work through.

Really looking forward to hearing it goes (and how you're feeling about it as it gets closer - eeek!) 😊

Re: Far and Away

I am definitely very nervous now that it is a possibility that we actually meet @CheerBear - so many feelings - most of them negative self-talk but I can only see how it goes and take it from there. If it doesn't work out - even as a friendship - then at least I have tried and who would have said I would be in this position even a few months ago. I think it really helps that we have been chatting for so long and that my sister knew him at school and thought he was one of the good guys. I know people can change but I like to think that they don't change that much and he is still that same nice guy that he was then. From the conversations we have had I get the sense that he is still that nice guy and we do have a lot in common so that is a good thing.

Re: Far and Away

Thanks @CheerBear - trying to remain positive which as you know is not easy in this situation with the history I have had. But I can only do what I can do and that has to be enough - if it isn't then he is not the right person for me anyway.
