Far and Away

@Snowie He seems much better this afternoon. He has even gotten off the couch. I have put the cone back on (which always makes him look sad) as he was starting to lick at one of his wounds. I will take it off when he has his dinner and when he looks like going to sleep again. I will need to go out later to go to the chemist and get Toby some more chicken for tomorrow and Thursday but I will take him with me so he is not home alone with Clover. I am sure she will be gentle with him but I can't take the risk of her doing her usual pouncy thing and him chasing after her afterwards.

How has your day been Hon? (sorry I am not reading anything apart from this and one other thread today)

My day has been hard. Saw my psych this morning. Worried about lack of supports over the xmas period. Unfortunately my MI doesn't take a break.

The xmas period is really hard @Snowie Lean on us here whenever you need Hon - I know it is not the same but anything we can do.

Just reading your message couldn't work out what ass principal was - thought she must not be nice. Lol.

Has occured to me today it is assistant principal.

Sounds like she is great. I do hope you can clear your mind of work until you decide when you want to catch up.

At times it is easier for me to distract my mind instead of taking the time to process things.

How is your pain today both physical and emotional?

I hope you and Toby are going well.

I’m okay @Zoe7 - still tired after another full-on year, but I am painting and as you know that is another way to recover. I have taken on a commission work which may lead to another one.

Ah yes Assistant Principal @Former-Member lol It must have read funny having ass in it lol I didn't even think - just write it as that for shorthand. She is lovely - all our leadership team are. I know our A/Principal and Principal are very fond of me - as I am of them - and are always nothing but amazing. It is such a lovely place to work and they are so supportive - makes such a change from my previous school.

Tobes is a little put out tonight - he has had his chicken but doesn't understand he cannot have his usual biscuits - he even barked at me so he must be feeling better. He still has his cone on though as he wants to lick his tummy wounds. 14 more days of this for the poor little mite until he gets his stiches out. Thank goodness I will be home for almost half that time with him. He is not allowed to run around for the next 3 days but after that he can do some light exercise - that will most likely include just following me around LOL

My pain is much better under control today - tired and achy but not so much strong pain (haven't even need pain relief as yet so that is positive). Emotionally still quite flat but the wind has not helped. No tears today though so another positive 👍 I do feel a lot better physically - yesterday and this morning I was feeling quite unwell but that has passed too. Going to have a shower soon and then go to the chemist and to get some more chicken for Tobes then I think we will all be in bed quite early. That does depend on the wind though for me as it is a massive trigger. I can deal with it better when I am okay but still feeling quite vulnerable so it may be an ongoing issue tonight ...will see how I go.

@Faith-and-Hope I too have been thinking of getting out the paints. I still have the peacock painting to work on - have left that alone for months now, not having the heart to do any painting since the one I did for an organisation and sent off earlier in the year. I do wish I could show you but it is going to be published in a magazine.

I am so proud of you for taking on a commission work - and if it leads to more then that would be absolutely wonderful for you Hon. I have copies of the two you posted for me in my office and I get comments on them all the time - and of course I say they were painting by someone very special to me and mean a lot 💕

Yeah super funny about ASS principal. Was confused because I know you hold your colleagues in such high esteem.

I'm so pleased you are feeling a bit better physically. No pain meds well done. We have had high wind here too. It tends to scatter the spirit. A friend of mine who was a teacher used to hate teaching on high wind days because of the impact it had on the children.

I was walking yesterday in the rain with an umbrella and it nearly took off out Of my hands.

I was lucky not to fall over or turn into Mary Poppins.
