A challenge I would think 😕 Hope this is a time yo rekindle some first love maybe.
Any good churches to visit there? Did you go this morning? Love ancient architecture and history. Churches are great for it. Hugz xox

Re: Far and Away

Me too @Eve7 He looks and sounds like he is in a bit of pain but is still very sleepy so I am hoping he sleeps through the worst of it. I don't think I will be sleeping much tonight though - will be keeping a close eye on him. Poor little mite looks so sad.

Re: Far and Away

I have taken his cone off @Eve7 and he looks more comfortable. Once he is awake I will put it on again but he is not even trying to scratch or bit at his wounds - he is just too tired and too sore to bother. I hate seeing him like this - breaks my heart but I can't do anything for him apart from make sure he is as comfortable as he can be.

Re: Far and Away

@Faith-and-Hope @Eve7 @Snowie @Former-Member @Shaz51 Toby is doing better this morning but still looks sad and is making little pain sounds. He was in a fair bit of pain over night but he finally got to sleep. I had some sleep then also. I have taken his t-shirt off as he is not scratching but he unfortunately still has his cone on - he did want to bite so it has to stay on. He seems to be dealing with it much better today - maybe because the pain has lessened for him in his mouth and it is more comfortable for him now.

I have been out to buy some more pavers and already unloaded them. It is quite windy today so I am not sure how much I will get done. I need to cut the pavers and the wind is not ideal for that - so will see how the day goes. I also don't want Toby outside unless it is for the toilet so if he starts scratching at the door and gets stressed because he can't come out then I will have to spend the day inside with him - he of course comes first.

Re: Far and Away

Hugs n hugs for little Tobes @Zoe7. You are a wonderful fur-baby mumma.

So glad the memorial day added some new beautiful memories, and recalled others, amongst the sadness. And I hear you about people not wanting a gathering for their funeral. When that happens, I still make my own small unofficial gathering to provide for myself and anyone close to me, for us rather than the absent person, to help get past that hurdle, because it is important.

Perhaps taking your Mum out for a special afternoon to simply “remember” your Uncle would be a positive thing for both of you ? Afternoon tea somewhere where he would have enjoyed being, bringing some memorabilia with you and placing and photographing it there, making a paper boat, filling it with flowers and releasing it into a stream ? Maybe you could plant a special plant in your mother’s garden for her to tend “for him”, for her ……

Re: Far and Away

Thanks @BlueBay 💙

Tobes is not having a great day @Faith-and-Hope Still making little moany sounds at times. I have taken off his cone for a while so he can sleep better. He needs it so he doesn't pull apart his tummy wounds but I think it is making his mouth feel worse because he can't lay comfortably. Since taking it off he has moved to his normal position on his blanket at the back of the couch so hoping now he sleeps for a while.

It is way too windy to go outside - I have had to pick up a few things and pack away others because they had been blown around the back yard. As you know, I hate the wind, so in my present state it has been amplified. Very much a trigger but I think I am doing well getting through it - my main focus is Tobes so have to be okay for him 👍

I love the idea of a tree for Mum. I am not sure what but will do some research and see what would fit best. I already have ordered a small memorial statue for my sister's partner to remember both his sisters - he lost both to cancer 😥 It is of two women holding hands as he said at the funeral they are both back together now.

Feeling quite tired today but I am not surprised - it has been a massive few weeks and not a lot of sleep over the past few nights - and today I have completely stopped - so it has caught up with me. Still not feeling well either but better than yesterday so that is something positive. I might try to grab a bit of sleep myself too now Tobes is asleep. No doubt Clover will come and snuggle up too 🐶😺💕

How are you doing Hon?
