A challenge I would think 😕 Hope this is a time yo rekindle some first love maybe.
Any good churches to visit there? Did you go this morning? Love ancient architecture and history. Churches are great for it. Hugz xox

Re: Far and Away

@Faith-and-Hope @Snowie @Former-Member Been a tough day but also nice. Remembering my second cousin, on what would have been his birthday, with family and friends around was nice. I had a very special moment when his Mum saw me - she hugged me for the longest time and cried. It was both happy and sad tears. We were all so close when we were younger and it was like time had not passed. She then saw my Mum (her cousin) and cried more ...but amongst the tears there was also light in her face. I am so happy my Mum and I went and could give her those moments. We are going to make an effort to keep in contact with her - I have all her details and will visit in a couple of weeks when I am back at work and feeling a little better myself.

We also found out all the details around his death so that was incredibly hard. He had been suffering for so long. He suffered a brain injury about 10 years ago after being assaulted and left in a coma for months ...and was never the same.

I have slept all afternoon and feel quite unwell myself so will be spending the evening resting further and planning on an early night. I think I need to go back to work on Tuesday to get back to as normal as I can but I am unsure today. I will have to wait until tomorrow when the feelings are a little less raw.

Re: Far and Away

They are very talented @Former-Member Tobes has stopped and is now laying on his blanket. I may cover him up soon so he doesn't get cold - thankfully it is not cold tonight so he may be okay. I am starting to think I may have this week off as well. I am not right and the thought of going back to work is stressing me. I have enough long service leave so it might be wise to take the time. Toby has his operation tomorrow so it would also mean I am home to look after him.

Re: Far and Away

Just made the call @Former-Member but had to leave a message. No doubt she will get back to me as soon as she can. I know I am not right and having Toby at the vet's is another added stress. Yes he is getting his tooth out tomorrow and two lumps taken off - a small cyst and a fat lump he has had for a while - we thought we may as well do it all whilst he is under anaesthetic so it will be a bit of a recovery for him.

Re: Far and Away

Poor Toby. He'll need his Mum.

Might be a few days recovery.

Good call re : work.

I'm very happy @Zoe7 I quit my job last Monday - yeahh !! Boss was a real bully and was a toxic work environment 😊. Feel heaps better was triggering my PTSD. Feeling better and looking for a position with meaning again.

Re: Far and Away

Yeah I think so @Former-Member I miss the kids but I don't want to be having to fight my way through each day - they deserve better. I may go in about mid week and get some of their books to look through while I have time to do so - we will be doing reports soon so if I can get on top of that early it would help.

I think you have made the right decision. I was in a similar position when I first went back to work - the Principal was impossible. She took over from a very supportive Principal when I was on leave. I said I wouldn't go back after being at the school for 16 years and it was the best decision I could have made ....could not be happier with the school and support I have had at my current school - and it is closer to home so less travel.

Take some time if you can for yourself as well Hon - and find the right fit for you.
