Thanks @Faith-and-Hope, how's your adventure going? Is there a particular thread your putting updates? Jetlag takes about a week to settle I'm told, and I'm sure there's son Celtic wisdom to get over your post viral fatigue How's WH coping with his obcessive routines while travelling? A challenge I would think 😕 Hope this is a time yo rekindle some first love maybe.
Any good churches to visit there? Did you go this morning? Love ancient architecture and history. Churches are great for it. Hugz xox

Hadn't thought to start a new thread ....

Re: Far and Away

Still okay at the moment @Zoe7 .... 💕

I got quite a lot of our story out there in a pragmatic way .... naming The Regimen as having displaced our family life and relationships, and that this is having a huge impact on S2 along with the other family members, that it's driven, and resulted in a personality and values change. I didn't mention the most obviously disordered behaviours or the anosognosia .... didn't think I could get away with those in any way, shape or form, but hopefully I have said enough to get alarm bells ringing somewhere in the background.

Thanks @Former-Member ..... 🌷

Feeling exhausted now tho. Don't think I will be awake for long tonight.

Re: Far and Away

So pleased for you that you at least got some of the 'issues' out in the open @Faith-and-Hope hopefully that will be the catalyst for 'everything else' to start to come out and WH (and all of you) can start receiving the help needed. I am so proud of you Hon. I can only imagine how nervous you were today and to get so much out as you did really does show how strong and courageous you are

Look after yourself tonight sweetheart... sending you lots of hugs and all my love

Hi @Faith-and-Hope

Yes - the Regimen has taken over your family life and had a huge impact on the rest of the family

You are so wonderful the way you put everyone else first - it does take faith and hope and a lot of prayer to keep on keeping on with this difficult programme

So as time marches on I still think of you and hope that things will eventually fall into place and the healing can begin

In the meantime more faith and hope and prayers

Lots of cyber-hugs

Re: Far and Away

Just before going to sleep WH said to me, "just so you know ... I didn't intend my idiosyncrasies to be a burden to you ....". There was no heat or malice in it .... but obviously an awareness that some of his behaviours are what might be considered abnormal, but that doesn't mean he believes they are in any way wrong.

That in itself is huge though .... as though within the context of counselling, while the counsellor supported the principles of being somewhat obsessed with diet and exercise he wasn't holding it up as an ideal, and WH had to sit there and listen to the alternative perspective to how he has perceived his "success". He heard me say that the transformed lifestyle was life-saving, but that the workaholism and BED are still present in new forms ...... I moderated that response to refer to the diet and exercise regimen .... but I am so hoping the counsellor "heard" what I was saying ..... that the BED still exists in a modified form .... and when he is sitting there looking at an obviously skinny person .... what does that mean ?? Hopefully a presumption that I am referring to bulimia. That will do, if that gets the door open .... !!!!

Re: Far and Away

Hi @Faith-and-Hope

It may be hopeful that WH sees he has idiosyncrasies - but not that they are wrong - alas

Don't his clothes hang off him? - sheesh - that would be obvious to his doctor as well as you.

I had under-weight probs a couple of times through my life and I was skinny due to stress - and I was eating enough to feed two people - and my clothing - bought to fit size 14 bones for a size 12 body - that was really uncomfortable and didn't look good

More time - more hoping and waiting and seeing and maybe the doctor does know but like you he has to wait - I nearly wrote weight - until WH reaches that point and can see all this himself

He is so lucky to have you - so many people - including me - would have walked away from all of this - I get what you are doing and have the love etc to manage - but it must be so hard - esp when you see how it affects your kids as well

@Owlunar .... I don't know whether it will be possible for WH to "see himself" without antipsychotic meds or some such .... I don't know enough about Anosognosia .... but it does demonstrate some compassion on his part ...... which is true to WH's own nature apart from the e.d. and ocpd ..... part of who I fell in love with.

Somewhere @Former-Member ...... but still deeply submerged. I don't know what it is going to take to retrieve him, but that's what we are in the process of working out, if the team are on the ball enough to see beyond the masks and walls.
