Far and Away

@Faith-and-Hope Just had a quick read/look through your weekend. Your paintings are amazing (so far) - as I knew they would be. Still looks like you are using watercolours lol - great job!! Look forward to seeing updated progress...

Glad you came visiting. Was thinking about you as I was there. It's an amazing area, but so far to travel .... but then it's like that in WA. It's so arid over here for most of the state that it's far less populated than the east coast too .... which means less facility. The south west is starting to fill in though, and develop wineries, cottage industry, and other things besides nature to come and visit for.

I imagine Tassie is similar in some ways from things I have heard.

Having rellies in NSW and Qld has given me a healthy respect for how big those states are too .... and the driving distances involved.

Today was a bit busy, but I hope to settle into finishing this current crop of paintings across the week, then think about starting the couple of big oils I have on hold, including the one for the comp.

@Faith-and-Hope I thought about you all weekend and hoped you were having a great time - just couldn't bring myself to check out how you were going because I knew I would look up other threads as well and wouldn't have dealt with that - so thought it best to avoid completely.

I have stopped the stepping stone painting for a little while and started a new one. I needed to distance myself from anything to do with the forum for a little while and the stepping stone painting was a reminder (you certainly are not a part of that reminder -only happy thoughts for you ) The new painintg pretty much says how I've been feeling lately so it didn't take much time to get started. I am planning on getting more done tomorrow and maybe picking upthe stepping stone one again in a few more days.

I know you won't be able to post the painting for the comp - and so we won't see it - but I can imagine how beautiful it is going to be

@Zoe7 .... So sorry you have been so triggered lately and struggling, but I am very pleased to hear that you are painting ..... ❣

I would love to share my competition pieces with you .... oil has such depth and intensity .... but yes, they are also a clear signature for anyone who knows me.

The weekend was a wonderful release, both for myself and the kids .... and D3 set up and painted another landscape in the garage today .... yay ❣

I will be around for a while this evening if you want to chat here a while. Just making my own dinner at the mo cos I'm vegan fasting and the kids dinner isn't that .... lol ....

There has been way too much going on lately and - yes - I have been beyond struggling.

I started my new painting today - started using soft pastels and then changed my mind and started with acrylics. Might even use a combination of both - see what mood I'm in tomorrow!!!! lol

Your competition pieces are a bit like my giant animals. I would love to show you them but they would easily identify me to not only people I know but a lot of other people who have seen them in an 'event' they were part of. I can't even mention what the 'event' was because that would make it obvious as well!

I would love to tell you all about the 'even' of which I have been part of for many, many years (except last year because I was so sick) but again - easily identified.

Great to hear D3 has set up in the garage - like mother like daugter hey! You must be very proud!!!!

More than proud @Zoe7 .... it's a clear sign that she is recovering from the struggles of the last few years. She just hasn't had this sort of self-belief since her knee dislocations.

Your new painting is sounding interesting already, with mixed media involved.

It is lovely for you to hear that D3 is gaining some confidence in herself - that would be such a giant relief for you.
