Any good churches to visit there? Did you go this morning? Love ancient architecture and history. Churches are great for it. Hugz xox

Ice hotel in Northern Europe @Former-Member ..... if you do start at the beginning of the travel thread you will come across a page of this with more explanation. My workaholic hubby meant that we were tied down with a family business for many years, and we have emerged now as adventurers .... that's one of the up-sides of what is going on in our world .... and it's a life of extremes, mostly not by choice. We have a lot of variables to juggle and when they go out of whack we encounter big problems ... the rest has been a combination of great fortune and great misfortune ....

It sounds like you have experienced something along those lines too.

Hi @oceangirl .... where are you ? 🌷💕

Re: Far and Away

Yes @Faith-and-Hope I guess so. It is just in the last few months I have even been able to remember my travels again after many years in the abyss. Which indicates the depth and strength of the vortex that consumed me I guess.

Anyhow, when I saw the photo iI immediately thought Antarctica. I have a friend in her 80s that plunged into the icy depths there. It was part of a Russian expedition she booked on. She inspred others and apparently on that trip, because of her, more people took that plunge than had ever done so.

Now that is a story to warm the heart. (which would be needed after that plunge, no doubt 😉 )

Now I want to go somewhere icy and your photo certainly makes me want to go there. Ive not travelled in cold areas very much, and when I have it's been summer. Never anywhere like that where summer is probably our winter anyhow.

Beautiful, just beautiful. Is it one of the Scandinavian countries?

Thank you for being inspiring.

Re: Far and Away

hi @Former-Member

I travelled all over Tasmania twice

first time by bus tour 27 years a go

and then a couple of years ago we hired a camper van and drove everywhere

the NT trip was a bus tour , but I am liking the idea of travelling where we want to go instead of in a group

@Shaz51 Goooood morning 🙂

Sounds like fun. I guess the organised tours have their advantages but the freedom of doing it independently is probably more rewarding. Exploring is fun and you don't get much of that on organised tours. 🌷

Hello there @Former-Member I do so hope you are feeling better this morning. I was worried about you last night 💜

@Faith-and-Hopeyou are so talented. I wish I could draw on any medium. I love your stepping stones, deinitely could see the difference in those pics you posted last night. Really nice and I so love the idea of the stepping stones taking me from one side to the other. So symbolic to me. 💕

See I stole them. ✅ 😛

Re: Far and Away

Morning @Faith-and-Hope, just had to share with you today's online devotional by Joni. xox

TAKE A LONGER LOOK

"'You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you,' declares the Lord."
Jeremiah 29:13-14

I love looking at paintings. Actually, I stare at them. When you take time to actually observe, you see so much more.

The other day, I wheeled into a gallery and spotted a framed print by one of my favorite artists, who is known for "hiding" secrets in her paintings. You have to examine her work closely to find her little surprises. This particular print was a mountain scene of a trapper and his packhorse fording a river.

At first glance, it was just another Western picture, but the frightened look on the trapper's face clued me in that there was more to the painting than met the eye. I wheeled closer. Camouflaged behind the rocks were shapes of Indians. A few more minutes of observation revealed more Indians behind the trees. Branches of pine became outlines of bows and arrows. Boulders turned into the angry faces of warriors. The more time I spent in front of the painting, the more I discovered. And the more I discovered, the greater my delight with the painting. Finally, I had found what the artist wanted me to see!

The point? The Master Artist wants you to discover the hidden treasures of His heart. And that requires more than a passing glance.

PRAYER: In today's Bible Reading help still my mind, and soul so i can look a little deeper.
