Just checking in.

Just checking in.

I thought I'd start a discussion where we can check in with members and use this space to keep in contact. It's a space to be able to say how you really feel and it's a space for the good, the bad and the ugly moments in our lives.

Re: Just checking in.

Hey @CheerBear . I came on to write something to you and just saw your last post.

I think it it would be normal to have those bad thoughts @CheerBear . When you are in the heat of the battle (in all the battles) it’s natural to want to make it stop. I think your thoughts were just reflecting that. It’s not bad or selfish, and ts more just a thought for self preservation which is very different to being bad or selfish. I’m so sorry today has been such a hard day. I’m guessing there is a few more to come.

Give yourself time to decide about the appointment. Just throwing it out there....is it a bad thing for your parents to see you in a twisted blobby mess. You are their daughter and it’s ok. I understand trying to hold it together in front of your kids. I’m actually bloody ignorant with this but I would have thought that it’s ok to occasionally lose it as it shows love and compassion above all else....but I’m also naive with this.

Will respond again soon soon as I have more to write. I need to process something of my stuff first.

@Teej @CheerBear thinking of you both

Re: Just checking in.

Thanks @Snowie and those under the support button. I appreciate it.

@Teej thank you for helping me have a bit of a thinking brain yesterday. Your post made me think that maybe that yucky wishful thinking was a bit like SI where most of the time it is about wanting the hard stuff to stop. I know there's nothing wrong or bad about having SI and I can kind of be kind to myself with that one when it happens now. Maybe I can do the same with this one.

I'll think on the appointment. I do have some days to work it out.

I'm wondering how your processing of your stuff went yesterday? Are you OK? Also thinking you might be doing some house stuff this weekend and really hoping it goes as well as it can given what you're doing.

❤

Re: Just checking in.

I’ve been a mess @CheerBear . Ended up on lifeline for the first time in a very long time at 4:00am. I’m self sabotaging at every turn. 😞😢

Re: Just checking in.

My inside feeling was that maybe you'd had a very hard night @Teej.

Anything in particular driving it tonight (now this morning)? Did something happen yesterday?

Sitting with you

Re: Just checking in.

Nothing per se happened @CheerBear . I’ve had lots of strong emotional reactions to the book I’m reading and connecting past dots and then future dots which is overwhelming. I’m having lots of anger and sadness and uncertainty about my future in a way that I am not coping so well.

After you had posted about reaching out I was brave and reached out to my friend. It was the first time I had written 'need' in a text. She is away for the weekend. Kids flew out yesterday for 10 days. I then texted a new friend but she has something important on. I’m ok with it all but it just left me in a bottomless hole.

I have struggled more since I started reading the book. I guess there are parts of 'what if'. What if I’d had a diagnosis years ago? Would I be doing better now.

Re: Just checking in.

Thanks @outlander .

It is totally understandable that there are those what ifs @Teej. Something I have been learning and thinking a lot about through my new gig is grief and loss. There's so much of it that comes with MH challenges. I don't know if that's part of it and part of the what ifs for you, but I think it is part of my darkness. It's so very OK to be having a hard time looking back and wondering what if. I know it doesn't feel good at all but recognising, processing and grieving loss is healthy.

Well done on reaching out too, though I'm sorry it lead to a bottomless hole. It's part of why reaching out is so hard for me - because when it is met with little I can feel worse. Mega hugs.
