Just checking in.

Just checking in.

I thought I'd start a discussion where we can check in with members and use this space to keep in contact. It's a space to be able to say how you really feel and it's a space for the good, the bad and the ugly moments in our lives.

Re: Just checking in.

That made me teary @Teej, in a lovely way thank you.

The rock thing came from unwell one who I think is realising the importance of being thankful for those who are around and who is realising what matters in life. It's sad that it has taken this long.

Thank you for sharing that story. I agree that rocks often have stuff going on that isn't very visible. It happened in a big way when I first had a mega crash. It was a shock to those around me who had no idea anything was going on with me until I was taken to hospital. They couldn't see it (and admittedly I kept it well hidden). I have learned from it but have to keep it in mind and be on to it I think. The reminder of the importance of self-care is helpful.

Gotta get moving soon-ish too. Thanks again ❤

Re: Just checking in.

In need of a @Faith-and-Hope kick up the backside. I’m supposed to having birthday family tea tonight but am struggling. My mind is so messy at the moment. I’m really all over the place. It’s possibly a day I needed self care but can’t. I have no energy or brain space and life is very confusing. Yesterday I couldn’t remember if I’d done things like take a shower or eat breakfast but I found evidence that I had like a wet towel and bowl in the sink :face_with_rolling_eyes:.

Re: Just checking in.

Make it Mexican @Teej

Bags of corn chips

Bowl of grated cheese

Bottled Enchilada sauce in a pan + can of corn + can of beans + tin of capsicum + chopped Coriander + chopped shallots - heat and serve

Platter (big plate) + tin of corn, grated carrot, grated cheese, chopped tomatoes, chopped lettuce, chopped shallots, olives + bottle of dressing

Tub of sour cream

Dont think about it @Teej, just do ..... or for my guys I just pull everything out and everyone starts chopping and constructing when they get there. Your part is just to provide the stuff to do it.

Start with:

Step 1 - list the stuff

Steo 2 - buy the stuff

Step 3 - unpack the stuff

If you don’t get any further than that, it’s okay. Each of the sharks + gf have big boy / girl pants of their own they can put on and get in there to chop and structure the stuff ..... you can just be there .....

Mojitos can go with it if anyone wants to start constructing those .... with or without alcohol.

You can do this.

Baby steps.

Big hugs 💜

Re: Just checking in.

Thanks @Faith-and-Hope . I’m definitely keeping that one in mind. For me it isn’t that easy. If it were just me and my crew that would be great but I have my parents and have had to menu plan for them and the birthday boy. I actually have to run the menu past mum first :face_with_rolling_eyes: which I did days ago. After I wrote to you I had my get healthy phone call which was the best timing possible. It motivated me.

I have just made the lasagna sauce with everything I had in my fridge and pantry. Now I need to get my booty to the shops and buy lasagne sheets and work out a vegetarian lasagne. Have started so that’s the main thing. I am def keeping your idea on hand for kids though. It caters for them all.

Thank you 🙏💜🤗😘

Re: Just checking in.

P.S. it’s easy to add minced beef or chicken to this meal ..... either cooked into the sauce, or like I do, in a separate dish to be added in for those who want it.

Hou can use tinned tomatoes with frozen onion as a base for the sauce, with tinned capsicum and a Mexican spices mix if you want ...... it’s really a mix-n-match and make-it-your-own ......

Re: Just checking in.

Tea went ok last night @CheerBear , @Faith-and-Hope

I am soooooo tired. There is lots swirling around in my brain that I hope slows down tomorrow.

How did the day with middle go @CheerBear ?

Re: Just checking in.

Glad tea went OK last night @Teej. With you with the tired and the swirling 😏. Anything in particular (everything maybe?) ?

Thanks for asking how we went today. We had a very long one and were at the hospital for nearly three hours (which felt double that). Middle became very muddled when we were talking about eating stuff, when the doctor suggested a blood test, when the cast went on etc. There's going to be a fair bit more not-fun to come I think. It's kind of overwhelming really.

I'm blegh tonight. I feel down and homesick/sick of sickness maybe 🙁

Re: Just checking in.

Me too with the blegh feeling @CheerBear . I can imagine that you’ll need a break from the sadness and sickness. You tend to live it I think when you’re in the thick of it. I remember that a bit but it was before my Big Bang.

Oh with middles muddle. Sounds like there’s some confronting stuff coming. I’m hoping not too big though, just enough for the changes that would help to be made. I think it’s better now than when they are in the midst of teenage years, that becomes messier.

Im just lost and confused and sick of myself making goals and then getting side tracked or something coming up that changes everything. I have a feeling you know the latter part well about things constantly changing or coming up unexpectedly.

I guess I’ve been realising that the changeable traits of BPD and adhd are strongly in play with me changing direction and losing sight of my goals constantly. I want to change this but it’s so hard to do when you have a scatter brain.

Had a session with my therapist today and she helped me to try to put to bed the thing that’s haunting me that shouldn’t be. Not sure if it’s gone for good yet but time will tell.

How many more more sleeps away?
