Just checking in.

Just checking in.

I thought I'd start a discussion where we can check in with members and use this space to keep in contact. It's a space to be able to say how you really feel and it's a space for the good, the bad and the ugly moments in our lives.

Re: Just checking in.

Oops. Please know my brain is really struggling so am just stopping conversation mid track lots irl and it looks like that includes on the forum. Once thought is out - done! I have no flow. Sorry if I have been or will be (in advance) abrupt. 🤯🤦‍♀️

Oh and it appears I’m very self absorbed as that was all about me 😳:face_with_rolling_eyes:🤦‍♀️ @CheerBear I hope big does wind down. They’ll be exhausted by the weekend. Not long before you can breathe again......and craft in peace again 💜😘

Re: Just checking in.

Just after saying my day was tricky (pretty much as I pushed post!), it took one of those "woah" turns when our very big (14ft) trampoline decided to take flight in a freak wind gust somehow making it's way into the air then well over the 6ft fence it was behind, clipping my car on its way down ('down' being scarily close to where I was standing at the time), then coming to a wobbly rest tangled in some tree branches over our driveway with its side up resting in the power lines running to the house. I called the SES who sent the police and fire brigade within a few moments. They were puzzled as to how it happened given the relatively calm day, the size of the trampoline and that it was so close to a high fence.

It took a little while but all is well now. Kids flipped then sat like this 😮 looking at all the fuss through the windows. The power company have been out to check the lines as we lost power but they're fine too. It seems that today isn't my day, though I feel so thankful that no-one was hurt and nothing was badly damaged (except the trampoline, a replaceable part of my car and my favourite potted pretties). A fire person mentioned how lucky we were that it wasn't worse and how lucky it was that no little crew were on it at the time. Very scary thought.

I've got way more to do around the house now than I had before and way less time left in the day, but I wanted to reply mostly so you know I hadn't taken off after your posts @Teej (but also because my brain looks a bit (a lot) like this 🤯 and I wanted to de-scramble it by taking a moment here).

I hope family tea goes OK for you and that all sharks and their partners behave. Also really hoping c-link stuff with psych tomorrow is OK enough. Very big understanding hugs and listening eyes for that one ❤

Oh dear @CheerBear what a day you have had Hon - one of those days that you really have to put behind you because the overthinking would send you down a dark alley - and that is not somewhere you need to be. Soooo grateful none of the crew were on the trampoline and there was minimal damage apart from the trampoline itself. You really have had 'one of those days' CB and I suspect you still have a lot to do - especially getting LF ready for school. Remember yourself in all your organising and thinking Hon and do something nice for yourself tonight if you can.

Hugs and hugs and hugs 💛🧡💚💙💜

Woah how scary @CheerBear. Glad everyone is okay! Sounds like a close call.

Re: Just checking in.

Oh wow @CheerBear😯. That would be freaky. That certainly sounds bizarre and an unlucky lucky thing. I bet kids are devastated re trampoline. I wonder if it was like one of those mini tornados. Mine adored our trampoline, Ive been thinking about getting it back for kids kids one day. I can’t believe it caused so much damage .....and to your potted pretties 😢. Have you insurance?

I hope the day had no more surprises. I have a feeling tired just took on another level once the adrenaline passed.

Heres. hoping tomorrow goes smoothly for all, especially a big and a mum 💜🤗😘

Re: Just checking in.

Morning anyone who might be passing by 🙂

So yesterday very much sucked and I crashed in a heap of overwhelm last night. Once the crew went to sleep I found myself with big, deep, sad, exhausted tears that felt like they might not ever stop. Tired definitely went next level 😏. It was the mess, the surprise (come down from shock probably as it really was scary), my kids losing one of their favourite things, being beyond tired before it happened, feeling like we can't even have a trampoline without something crackers happening with it... all the things. I felt so defeated by life last night. I struggled to fall asleep even though I badly needed it and did very little of what there was to do around the house.

But today is a new day. As always happens the sun rose again 😉 and I am kind of laughing about it now. I seriously felt like I was in The Wizard of Oz when it happened 😮😆. I've been up and busy working on house jobs since silly o'clock and have so far managed things like clearing out the pantry, doing some washing and tidying up stray bits from yesterday's chaos. I have some very helpful smaller helpers today who I think caught a glimpse of a mum who really didn't need yesterdays 'adventure of the flying backyard toys'. It probably wasn't the worst thing for them to see that my energy is not unlimited.

We have people coming tonight to help with tomorrow which I am so, so thankful for as I can get a big one off to school knowing a smaller pair will be OK too. We'll do a practice bus run this afternoon and then we're done. I am feeling (somewhat) back to "got this" and very much looking forward to normal weeks returning 🙂

@Teej am thinking of you and your appointment today. Everything crossed psych comes through and helps with a way out of the c-link mash that feels and is OK for you. @Zoe7, @Queenie, @eth and all - I am looking forward to catching up/wandering around the forum when have a clearer moment to focus.

❤🌈

Re: Just checking in.

Here’s hoping there is less freak in your weeks from here 😜😘 @CheerBear. My memory is not good. So it’s tomorrow a big starts? Usually I’m ok with remembering that stuff.

My brain is in overdrive trying to write stuff for my psych appointment. I’m struggling very much to concentrate on doing it....but I’ll perservere. It’s taken me 20 mins to write this post so far as my brain is so AWOL 😏🤦‍♀️. Appointment is not until 3 thank goodness.

Re: Just checking in.

It may also be that I speak weird (lol) @Teej and rather than say "they're back Thursday" I've done my usual roundabout 'one more day after today' thing 😉 Sorry!

Is the stuff you are trying to write things you've been asked to write or things you want to write? So annoying when concentration goes for a wander when you really need it not to!

I finished all the things (except the bus ride but that has to wait)! The things even included making salad jars for lunches with with my helpers. I have a couple of hours until people are here and am going to really enjoy sitting for a little while and soaking up the feeling of having the house cleaned up and out 😁
