Just checking in.

Just checking in.

I thought I'd start a discussion where we can check in with members and use this space to keep in contact. It's a space to be able to say how you really feel and it's a space for the good, the bad and the ugly moments in our lives.

Re: Just checking in.

Oh I’m so impressed with the salad in jars one 👍🏻😘 @CheerBear. Enjoy your moments of clean house and peace.

The writing is me. I have now written 11 heading of topics that are important at the moment 😳🤔:face_with_rolling_eyes:. Now to write enough so it’s manageable. I know I won’t get close to that in session, three if I’m lucky. Centrelink is one heading 😮😬. I also have an ADHD checklist I was meant to fill out but A) I can’t find it, B) there are so many squirrels C) just now that seems the least of my worries.

👍🏻With what day.

Re: Just checking in.

I've never made salads in jars before @Teej and am currently wondering who I am 😆 I've been way too bananas trying to make sure we start the year off in the right way (whatever that is?) that I've run myself down with things that felt important enough to at least try even though I'm thinking they'll last all of about 5 minutes 😏 oh well!

That's a lot of stuff. The centrelink one is a big one and will be really good if you can tackle it and get somewhere today. Fix-it brain wants to suggest you maybe focus on the three you think you'll get to if you're lucky today. I know I can get really overwhelmed by the bigger picture sometimes (feel free to shush my fix-it as I get what it is like to have an overdrive AWOL brain too 😉). The ADHD checklist sounds 😐 too. Hopefully psych gets how big the c-link thing is and can go somewhere with you with that.

Lots of 🤞 for lots of things for many at the moment!

(Ps Squirrels - haven't heard that one before!)

Re: Just checking in.

Quick fly-by @CheerBear to wish you well with getting school stuff ready and LF sorted and on their way (hopefully happily) tomorrow

@Teej hope your appointment went well and you got some of the centrelink stuff worked through.

Hugs to you both

Re: Just checking in.

Thanks @eth, @Zoe7, @CheerBear

todays appointment has left my head spinning. I have no clue as to where my psychiatrist stands with everything regarding centrelink. I know she is writing me a report for them but I don’t know what will be in it.

she pushed my buttons in an ok way. I realised that it is so hard to know if she understands me. I think for the most part yes.

Long story long we did go a lot through the adhd stuff as she sees it all connected. We discussed me going on a med for it. In a somewhat ironic twist she was keen for me to give that known adhd med a try but I was hesitant. We discussed my reasons as to why not now and I said because I need to deal with the centrelink stuff first. I want to be as emotionally stable as I can be with a goal I’m working towards before I try it so I can know the effect better and there are less variables. I need to understand what is emotion mind scatterbrain vs possible adhd scatterbrain or maybe it’s just teej scatterbrain 😳😜. It feels so weird writing adhd because there is definitely no hyperactivity. I think I would feel blessed if there was 😆.

Dog is at me currently so will depart for a bit to appease him.

Re: Just checking in.

That is frustrating not being clear where the psychatrist sits on the centrelink stuff @Teej - more time for you to mull over things. I had so hoped for you that that was sorted more today. I suppose all you can do is hope for a report that helps you out - that is tough though Hon.

I get where you are coming from with new meds - sometimes we don't know the effects they will have and so I can understand your reluctance just yet to take this new one. Do what feels right for you Teej - that is all you can do.

Your dog sounds like Cat - they tell us when it is time to feed them. Cat of course gets a lot less attention than Toby so that is her way of getting my attention.

Re: Just checking in.

Morning anyone passing by 🙂

Wondering how your night/morning has been after your spinny head appointment yesterday @Teej and how you're feeling about the ADHD stuff? Also wanted to let you know (in case you can't hear my happy dance from where you are 😉) that:

My crew are all back at school again! I am soaking up an incredible feeling of relief at the moment. I think it's more than the usual 'glad school holidays are over' feeling. I took Big in on the bus this morning and on the way home I really realised how much of a stress and worry it had been to get to that point. Everything from when we started looking at schools and trying to get them in to a good school early last year, the application processes, the organising and the cost involved, the worry about them catching PT on their own... - it's all over now!

They all rocked today. The littler ones left happy and excited about seeing friends which was great to hear about. And Big was very calm and chilled out. We'd planned on me picking them up this afternoon after I picked up the others (which would mean a wait at the school for them) but I said that if they felt confident in catching the bus home on their own they could do that too. This morning they said they think the bus would be what they'll do which felt so great to see and hear 🙂👍

I'm so excited about what lies ahead for them. This new school is big and busy which has felt scary to a mum who has very much kept them in little bubble of safety, but it is bursting with opportunities and adventures. I feel proud and relieved today 😊

Thanks also @Zoe7 and @eth for you messages yesterday 🙂

Hope today has some good in it for all ❤

Re: Just checking in.

That is two wonderful news things for today @CheerBear You have your crew all back safely and happily to school and F&H is coming home in a few days. What a fantastic thing it is for you to be able to relax now a bit also. Time to give yourself the same love you give to everyone else Hon - enjoy the day - relax while patting yourself on the back for not only getting through the past weeks but your LF (especially Big) are finding their feet too - that can only be done with some awesome role modelling and you have done that CB - super proud to have you as a forum friend
