Just checking in.

Just checking in.

I thought I'd start a discussion where we can check in with members and use this space to keep in contact. It's a space to be able to say how you really feel and it's a space for the good, the bad and the ugly moments in our lives.

Just checking in (being a pest 🐜) @Teej. Thinking of you wondering how potentially explosive went and how yesterday was.

I checked the weather and think it may be a more comfortable temp again, at least for now 🤞 Hoping your goose legs are healing too 😉

I have to venture to the shops today with a crew that I'll call moody, sassy and trouble for more back to school prep. I'm dreading it. I cant imagine this stuff with four sharks as you would have been doing.

Hope things are OK enough for you. Here either way though 💙

Re: Just checking in.

Ahh I had it easier than you @CheerBear. I don’t remember having to take four with me often. Mine were ok shopping but car rides could be horrendous. It’s funny because I’ve been try to think about that and it’s gone from my memory. I do remember going food shopping with sharks often individually and each one was a different experience. My ratbag was and still is the best one to go shopping with. He was really helpful. I was also blessed that I could leave mine home alone at quite a young age and never had a problem (I know this is a complex thing for you and understandably will be for a bit longer). My big was a very responsible one from a very young age. I think that them having to catch planes interstate on their own twice a year meant that they were quite independent and could get along without drama when they had to. They learned to depend on each other.

But I can tell you it wasn’t like that at home!

I could write a book book on my legs at the moment 😜:face_with_rolling_eyes:.

Im ok. Explosive didn’t happen thanks to someone’s reading and listening eyes the other night 😘. Yesterday I had a crash day but went with it....well mostly. Today some kind of human is back...yay for that. The temperature is perfect and life is ok. I am still very scattered but going with it.

And lastly I think you must have mistaken me for an organised mum 😜. What is this getting ready for school thing you speak of 🤣.

I hope today wasn’t too bad for fishes and crowds and getting needed things. 💜🤗

Re: Just checking in.

Haha you make me laugh @Teej (my phone tried to tag 'terkel' - that's a new one!) 😊😁

On their own they're pretty good to go out with. Together, yeah nah. I'm slowly starting to be able to leave one on their own for short trips now they have a phone and need to travel on their own to school. This trip needs their feet (new shoes) so it's a no this time.

Here I am inside flipping about one venturing on a bus travel on their own and I read yours went interstate on planes on their own! Awesome sharks you had/have ❤

A book on legs would be kind of funny! I'm glad your human has returned, life is OK enough and the weather isn't melting you. Scattered but rolling with it sounds pretty good 😊

I'm going to roll out with my crew now I can't put it off any longer. I dont drink but these are the times where temptation is high 😉 Seriously dragging myself through the tail end of holidays now and the getting ready for school stuff (which for me looks like list writing, pulling my hair out, resorting to constant nagging at smaller ones with selective hearing to actually get up and do things, and shameless bribing). Big breath.

Good to hear from you 😘❤

@Mazarita. I have a strange question for you. Do you have paid or unpaid subscriptions to stock images sites? I figure you would get most of the material you need to work with but was looking for any suggestions. It’s just for me to start messing around again. It’s been a long time and copyright not so much an issue as nothing is paid......or put on the net.....🤔except for here. It’s mostly just for my own stuff really.

Re: Just checking in.

Hi everyone. Middle of the night again, heading towards early morning.

@eth, sending hugs while we are missing each other in real time, and good vibes for all that is happening with your days.

@Teej, yes I do subscribe to a paid stock site, for moving images, not stills. For stills there are other places they can be sourced legally on licences that allow sharing and recreating new works with them, without payment. Google searches would help locate these. Do you feel you are lacking images? Wondering why you might be asking, I guess, as it seems you already share heaps of images here. Unless you are after moving images? I don't think we can share those here anymore, unless they are gifs. Hope something I've said helps.

@CheerBear, hopefully it's still too early for you to be anything but asleep. Hope your day yesterday was relatively smooth sailing with the house stuff and LF.

Re: Just checking in.

@Mazarita It’s png files and vectors and psd files I was looking for. I came across one site that I like but it is mostly paid. I know it’s not expensive compared to many but $120 per year is too much too.

@CheerBear I’m Wondering how a big and a mum coped this morning if you wanted or could share.

Re: Just checking in.

Just came back from another one of those trips out with the kids that makes you never want to go on trips out with the kids again @Teej 😏 We did a big grocery shop and some hunting for last minute school stuff we couldn't find the other day. At the shops I saw so many parents that looked just as I feel - wrecked, drained and well over it. I had a laugh with another mum arguing with their kid over socks and saw a dad walk away from his kids who were taking 387 years to choose a drink bottle, just as one of mine was doing too. I wanted to join him. School is back in one more day after today 🙂

Thanks for checking in on Big and I this morning ❤ Big is going a bit bananas and I'm finding it full on. They're anxious and excited and I get it, but it is non-stop. I really hope they settle in quickly for them and for me! I think it will be better once they've found a friend or two and made their way there and back a couple of times🤞 Between Big and the love/hate duo I'm being pushed so I'm definitely more bear than cheer today 😉 (In all seriousness, I am actually really tired in a 'tired doesn't come close to the right word' way, and finding it tricky today)

How are you going today? What's on for you this week if you'd like to share?

Re: Just checking in.

Oh I feel for you @CheerBear. If it helps I’m having a tussle with one of my sharks. I want him to drop in to the Asian grocer on the way here from work. It is way out of his comfort zone, this one is very set in his ways and doesn’t like different much. I’ve got the silent treatment while he works out if he can do it. It a bit of stubbornness as well and laziness. I would love him to go in and just experience it as it’s really authentic.....especially the smells but I love it.

I will drop a rave at some point. I have family tea tonight and then psych tomorrow and I feel so nauseous about seeing her tomorrow because it’s all trying to deal with the centrelink stuff.
