Just checking in.

Just checking in.

I thought I'd start a discussion where we can check in with members and use this space to keep in contact. It's a space to be able to say how you really feel and it's a space for the good, the bad and the ugly moments in our lives.

Re: Just checking in.

I'm shuddering at the thought of you having to go through the job network and c-link stuff @Teej, and totally understand your petrified feelings. Just thinking about it brings back horrible feelings for me 🙁 I really hope it is an OK or even helpful (as it should be) experience, though, yeah 😕 I'm sure you've mentioned it before but is the DSP something you could/have looked at?

And ugh to the spots and the heat. Hard without air conditioning when it is this hot. I've been checking out the weather around the place and you seem to have longer runs of hot days where you are. Maybe you should just move here 😉

My world is OK today thanks and the smaller people and I are doing very little in a very comfy inside of the house. It's horrible outside but won't last long with a change coming this afternoon.

Hope the list ticking goes well for you ❤

Re: Just checking in.

Thanks @Zoe7. I’m crossing my fingers I’ll not have to go. The reason was that they rejected my Centrelink medical certificate because the psych ticked the wrong box (which was not her fault because it’s a stupid form). I put the new one in on Wednesday night but it may be rejected or may not be processed by Monday. The lady at the job network said she’ll ring if it is processed. If not I have to attend 😬🤯.

I meant to add you in my post last night. I read how your appointment went on Wednesday. It’s so encouraging when I read those posts. You have come so so far. I really hope this year is kind to you and you get a good placement. Onwards and upwards ......except for those crazy slides to the back and the few flips and twists......then onwards and upwards again 😜😘

One step at a time, one day at a time.

💜🤗

The DSP is not an option @CheerBear. I’ve been told there is no way I’ll get it. I agree with that but then fall through the cracks in the meantime. My psych isn’t supportive of me getting the DSP but is of me having time and space to find some footing before I’m forced into that and is ok with writing a medical certificate at the moment. She does understand that I have to be vertical and somewhat functioning first.

Re: Just checking in.

It's such a horrible position to be in @Teej, when you need space and time but are not eligible for the DSP. I really wish there was something in between a med cert and the DSP. Seriously feeling with and for you with it. Crossing everything they accept your certificate.

Re: Just checking in.

You know if I had my way I think I’d live in @Zoe7 part of the wood, although I’d def drop in to your neck of the woods too @CheerBear 😊. My sea change would be tassie though I think. There’s not much chance of it though as I have aging parents and my tribe of boys still here. I think I’ll always be guaranteed to have one live in this city.

Re: Just checking in.

Thanks @Teej - you know that I read along most of the time and check in with you every now and then just so you don't forget about me lol Seriously though - I think you have come a long way - you certainly are learning ways to deal with the ups and downs as well.

Yes we still have days that are not great but being able to get through them is an achievement. I feel like I am more able to cope with that tough stuff but I also know it wouldn't take much for me to fall into a hole again. Lots of self-care and positive thoughts in a crazy world hey! Onwards and upwards (and hope things work out too).

Re: Just checking in.

Thanks @CheerBear. Hoping it is a short lived heat spell for you. Nothing worse than a heatwave and having little fish not being able to swim freely and coupled up in their fishbowl.

Re: Just checking in.

Possibly not coupled up in their fishbowl, thinking cooped up is a better word :face_with_rolling_eyes: @CheerBear. They area bit young to be coupled up yet 😜

Re: Just checking in.

Tassie is indeed a beautiful place @Teej - would love to know you were in the same state but understand that family connections can tie you to where you are now ...who knows - one day you might just decide you need that change

Re: Just checking in.

For all I complain about the ocean being cold here, swimming my way to Tassie sounds like an awesome idea today @Zoe7 and @Teej. I went outside and instantly felt blegh 😑 Feeling for anyone who has to be out in it today or who doesn't have a cool place inside to escape it.

It sounds like a great place to live in lots of ways Zoe. Like you Teej, I think I'll be here where I am for a while too.
