Can an overnight stay in hospital get you the meds you need sooner @Former-Member ? Just trying to think outside the square for you ....
Agree with @Kurra about approaching the head of dept .... you're a special case in every good sense of the word .....
When I had 3 kids under 2yo, one with major illness, disability, heart condition, all with asthma, workaholic husband, oppositional in-laws .... I had to come to terms with the fact that life doesn't play out on an even field .... and part of self compassion is putting your hand up and saying so .....
And anyone else in your course with the same living circumstances and mi issues can step up and ask for the same allowance to be made .... ❣

I think you can do it too.
I believe the course will be great for you too.
You might be tired intially like kurra said but you will adapt to the change and your energy levels will increase because you will be out and about and on the go.
Follow your heart and belive more in you.

Re: Just checking in.
@Kurra I get the reason for her not prescribing. She is also making a stand a recently went in to bat for me telling the mental health team that they were neglecting their responsibilities to me and needed to step up and do there job. The mental health team have made a blanket ruling that GPs can't prescribe me anything for mental health taking away the power from my GP but every now and then when it's too hard for them they ring her and ask if she can. She is sick of there games so has made a stand which I'm ok with. She is kept in the dark and sick of the system too and just wants consistency and team work. I didn't get that she really was on my side until my last appointment when she told me she had rung them complaining. And now as of next week no consistency new care coordinator and new psychiatrist. Rant over grrrr.
As for TAFE. I have an appointment with my therapist tomorrow. I'll talk to her again. Her first message was of excitement and told me to go for it. She hadn't realised it would mean not doing therapy with her, thus the second message said it's too big.

You could make an appointment with another GP and take your tablets along in the bottle or box and show them and ask them for a script - just ask them nicely. I truly can't see them saying no.

Re: Just checking in.
I seem to be on a bit of a roll tonight and becoming rather passionate as only Kurra can do. Will someone please tell me to shut up and turn off the light
I've a 5am start tomorrow.
Hi @oceangirl! Because I really do need to get some sleep can we catch up in the next couple of days? It's good to see you about the place. Hugzzz 💕🎶

Re: Just checking in.
That would put a cat among the pigeons @Faith-and-Hope she says with a smile....a hospital visit to get meds prescribed. Sorry. Actually love the concept but not sure it's in my best interest. Feeling so peaved at last psychiatrist at some of the stunts he pulled on me. Love your thinking out the box. This one I can live with and survive. It just hurt more and made me feel like a piece of :pile_of_poo: that he would do that. For my care coordinator to be shocked to said it all. I had no value in his eyes 😢. He told me on my last visit that I wasn't presenting with depression that day so I was ok. GP rolled her eyes when I told her that.

Since technically you are not under the care of a psychiatrist atm, is it possible for your regular GP to write a script has a one off for you.
Goodnight @Kurra
Catch up with you soon.

Thanks for being there @Kurra and being passionate. It's kind of hard to respond as passionately but love your support. Sleep well 💜🤗😘

Another option has the new psychitrist started working where you saw the old one if so you could phone her and ask her to phone you back and then ask her to write out script. Don't wait for appointment phone her she should not have a problem writing up a script.
I like @Faith-and-Hope idea about going into hospital to get your script- I would never have thought of doing that- she sure does think outside the box.
I can't believe all the s&*t you have to put up with.
