I thought I'd start a discussion where we can check in with members and use this space to keep in contact. It's a space to be able to say how you really feel and it's a space for the good, the bad and the ugly moments in our lives.
I guess I could try @oceangirl with my GP. I have an appointment with her I was thinking of moving forward. I guess I'm feeling a bit sorry for myself too. Finally it my act together. In the scheme of things it's not life threatening.
How are you going?
glad you could join in the eye rolling @Faith-and-Hope. Always adds atmosphere a good eye roll.

Re: Just checking in.
In my experience @Former-Member no mental health team has that degree of power. Telling a fully qualified Dr what they can and can't prescribe? There's a huge difference in the education duration and standard!!!! That makes my blood boil. I'm glad your GP has taken a stand.
Maybe you could suggest to your therapist that you move to fortnightly appointments during the course. I'm certain you would be able to get additional appointments if needed.
I agree with @Faith-and-Hope and @oceangirl. Try the hospital and if necessary see a different GP clutching the old box your hot little hands.
You could also ask your current GP for a script for a 10 day supply until you see your psychiatrist. 🎶💕

Re: Just checking in.
I tried the last part @oceangirl about asking the new psychiatrist but it's policy or something that they can't prescribe without ever meeting their patient. Thanks though

Re: Just checking in.
Hiya @Former-Member, Kurra, Faith-and-Hope, Teej, I have been where you are, study is a great way to get back into the world again, however, I started that many courses and fell on my face dropping out it was in fact countaproductive, in the sense that I felt like a failure each time. If there's any doubt to your motivation atm I would think next semester you could reconsider, defer maybe? Study does requite a lot of uninterrupted focus, and hard work. This path doesn't work for everyone. When I realised WHY I kept sticking my neck out, it wasn't for me but others & so I now put my energies into being true to myself and recovery. Only you can see & feel all that's on your plate already, what's coming up and if you can afford adding another stress load. Maybe you'll have to keep trying like I did, maybe you have more supports to lean on, maybe you'll do better. But this late in the game, with doubt looming, I think best defer. But will support whichever. Just want to see you staying on track, you've done so well lately. xox

Re: Just checking in.
Yes it is @Former-Member. I think your best bet would be 10 days supply from the GP.
Hmm. I've got out of bed and I'm now eating dinner. I sort of got busy and forgot earlier. 😳

Re: Just checking in.
Nope. A boring old antidepressant and a benzo. @Former-Member. All from a registrar. My last script truth be told came from the hospital because he refused to prescribe it. The senior psychiatrist rang him and talked to him about it. I really think this has lots to do with being raked over the coals a bit over my last hospital visit.....which is why I loved @Faith-and-Hope suggestion....although it happened by default last time.

Re: Just checking in.
@Former-Member
I would make appointment with GP tomorrow or the next day and ask her for a script.
