I thought I'd start a discussion where we can check in with members and use this space to keep in contact. It's a space to be able to say how you really feel and it's a space for the good, the bad and the ugly moments in our lives.
Do what you can then wait and see (I know my pic is on your dart board for that one .... bet you hate that little phrase ,,,, ❣)
It's your problem-solving mind going into over-drive .... I've got one like that too .... but some things do actually fall into place, and this male might be your right fit for the moment ....
And .... just cos your care worker is leaving, doesn't mean she doesn't care ..... but I hear you anyway .... grr, grr and grrr ..... ❣
Hugs @Former-Member .... group hug .....

Re: Just checking in.
Just got message from my therapist. She doesn't recommend me going to tafe under these circumstances 😢 Thanks @Faith-and-Hope. Yes my typing finger was/is in overdrive too.

Do remember that even though your therapist doesn't recommend your doing the course, the ultimate decision remains yours.
When I commenced my psychology degree I became so entranced with the subject matter that my studying became a positive for my mental health. I was just too interested in the course and too busy to worry about my mental illness. I was in a really bad way when I enrolled.
Yes there were tough times, really tough times but I found the lwcturers to be immensely understanding and helpful. They can make allowances for people in your situation and do.
Think about what they're teaching. If they can't work around periodic difficulties then they are very definitely in the wrong job and should be reported. Supporting documentation from your doctor, not your therapist also helps heaps.
You desrve and have a right to equality in education. If you are denied this because of your mental illness then you're staring discrimination in the face.
I suspect you could well find this course very helpful for you as an individual. Worth thinking about? 🎶💕
Sometimes Teej we need to jump in boots and all. Only you know what you can do and how you feel. You've been excited about this course and you were terrified you wouldn't get in.
What does that tell you about Teej? 💗

Re: Just checking in.
I'm feeling devastated @Kurra. As he was going through the course my confidence grew. It was going to be all the things I'd hoped it would be. But it means giving up my therapist and DBT and I probably need them more. With her only working on Wednesdays and the lecturer saying there was no flexibility to incorporate seeing her I'm stuffed. I'd never find someone to take me on like she is. The only reason I'm at the point I could go to tafe is because of her.

Re: Just checking in.
Feeling kind of slammed at the moment @Kurra and @Faith-and-Hope. The other thin that happened yesterday was that the old psychiatrist was going to write out a script until the new psychiatrist started but I just found out he refused before he left leaving my care coordinator and I dumbfounded. I think it was payback for SH on him. New psychiatrist won't write a script until I see her end of feb. GP refuses to write script, insists it's the psychiatrists job. No win situation. Go without meds when I just went back on them 10 days ago. 😣😔😡

Re: Just checking in.
Push the course coordinator @Former-Member! Excluding you or preventing you seeing your therapist is unacceptable and in my opinion unethical. Go to the head of the TAFE and explain your circumstances. For heavens sake! This is a course related to mental health. I can see a head that should roll.
I know someone who has done this course and needed to continue seeing his mental health team. Allowances were made and he absolutely loved the course despite the depressions and manias that he experienced.
Fight for Teej lass. No one will fight for you harder than you will. I know you really want to do this course. Grab the opportunity with bith hands tightly. I think you'll surprise yourself.
The full days will be challenging initially but you'll quickly adapt. You'll be far too absorbed by what you're learning to notice the tiredness. And gey! You can always have a blob /bed/PJ day after the two days study.
You go girl. This is a time to follow your heart and believe in Teej. I have every confidence that you can do this and succed. Dig those heels in lassie. 🎶💕

Re: Just checking in.
Are there other GPs in town @Former-Member? It seems as if this one is neglecting their duty of care to you. I know that I would be finding someone else. Grrrr!!! 💗
