Just checking in.

Just checking in.

I thought I'd start a discussion where we can check in with members and use this space to keep in contact. It's a space to be able to say how you really feel and it's a space for the good, the bad and the ugly moments in our lives.

Re: Just checking in.

😸 @ utopia and at @Zoe7 you're not alone re short shrift.. tis what it is Not hanging off any replies or 'buddies' on here, not anymore. A reply is a bonus. And if its from someone who seems to actually care, or 'get' you then thats a bonus. There are some strange bedfellows here. Think its part and parcel

Re: Just checking in.

@Zoe7 I wholeheartedly agree with @utopia. Read what she said again and again in all her posts. You have so many beautiful gifts you'll be able to share again one day and they'll be reciprocated. Please take good care @Zoe7. You are cherished here 💜🤗💐

Re: Just checking in.

Sorry @Former-Member I didn't quite understand your post - whose posts should I read to see what was said again and again?

Re: Just checking in.

I think read @utopia posts mostly the last three @Zoe7. I think they had really relevant parts, especially the last one. im really sorry you are going through this but you are not alone. It is a really difficult and painful thing to have happened but I know you can get passed this. I know there is beauty in this life waiting for you.

Re: Just checking in.

There's your beautiful compassion again @Zoe7 ....

I'm sorry if my words came across as harder than I intended ..... perhaps respectable wasn't the right word to use .... I'm assuming it was a text or fb message you received from them saying hey wanted no further contact ? One of your posts above indicated it is an off-forum situation ....

Thant indicates a fear of abandonment ... probably based in an insecurity that they have shared too much .... but if you leave the compassion door open, as you are, they might rethink their choice ....

I hope so.

Breathe .....

Re: Just checking in.

@Faith-and-Hope sorry if my post sounded like I hadn't listened to your words - I did. I understand where you are coming from and maybe there is some truth in the words you used - but the reality for me is that I won't have anything negative said about this person (and that is not aimed at you - it's just the way I feel about them) and could never say anything against them myself. This is where I'm at: if I didn't think that this person may one day find out - and place some blame on themselves - then I would stop MY pain right now but the thought that they may somehow find out and feel any guilt is enough for me to not cause them any pain.

Yes it is an off-forum situation and that makes it even more difficult as the conversations have been regular and for long periods of time. It may be a fear of abandonment or being scared of sharing too much but I really thought we had both got past this (we both had this as an initial concern and were both scared of the connection and friendship we were developing considering our histories).

I really hope they get through whatever they are going through too and make contact again. Not just because I really enjoy their company - but I also believe that they enjoy mine also. I really want to be able to walk away from this myself at the moment but every part of me is saying 'it's too important to give up on and I am not someone in their lives that will let them down".

Re: Just checking in.

❤️💕 @Zoe7 .....

I understand .... I hope they do rethink their response .... and I imagine they will be soul-searching in this moment too .... they were making an attempt at breaking a previous pattern, as were you, and sometimes it takes more than one attempt to achieve break-through .... so it is likely you have healed them in this situation anyway .... but our main concern is for you .....

Be gentle with yourself. Here for you ....

❤️💕

Re: Just checking in.

@Zoe7. I know that post was for @Faith-and-Hope - so I hope you don't mind me responding.
I know. For me to open up and be vulnerable to someone - my friend - means they are worth it. He is worth it. I think that is the same for you.
Hopefully your friend just needs time to think things over & work out what she wants and what she is able to give. Then she may make contact again.
Don't give up. She liked you and connected to you for a reason. She will be back in your life one day. I'm certain of it.
