Just checking in.

Just checking in.

I thought I'd start a discussion where we can check in with members and use this space to keep in contact. It's a space to be able to say how you really feel and it's a space for the good, the bad and the ugly moments in our lives.

Re: Just checking in.

Hi @Former-Member, hang in there, be yourself. Chill a littlw. I think we "bother" because the alternative is 100 times worse. Try find and focus on the good things in your life, the blessings, no matter how small - really notice them in detail. Little 'wow' moments, especially in tbw garden - Gets me by. Hugz to you xox

Re: Just checking in.

Like your wisdom Tawney - helps other people a lot when they need help but feel a little reticient to ask about their worries and what we may be able to give back to them in a kind and caring way. You are blessed with much insight and compasssion. Thank you again for all you contribute to this wonderful forum.Bimby2

@Zoe7, Well heeelllloooooo!!! Backatchya! Thanks for the calling it.
I've seen you getting about yourself, making new connections, having a slump and bouncing back, proud of you, doing well!!
Aww shucks @Bimby2, good to get good feedback thanks. I try. Feels like I've lived 10 lifetimes, with all the pain, learned a bit along the way.
Hope to get to know you both better. Not big good on retaining details sorry, more in the now when posting, but keep trying.

Re: Just checking in.

Thanks @Former-Member Pretty proud of myself too. oceangirl and I tend to spend most nights chatting still. Have connected with a few people here but generally have just poppped by head into threads when I've felt I could provide support. Do get out and about during the day a bit more now. I really believe the days I take Toby to the beach are so important to me.

I'm just staying home watching the cricket today - it's really hot outside and too tired to brave the heat.

What are you up to - other than being on here?

Re: Just checking in.

Good onya @Zoe7, i literally laying about in silence listening to the wind, the birds, my little wind chimes, trying to breathe deep now and then and smile, irs nice. I spent many years drowning out my thoughts with continual noise, even whilw slewping, couldn't stand silence, it frightened me, the emptiness of it all. But I did check flight prices to see if I could afford go visit my parents, and watched a movie earlier 'fantastic 4' My dog Claypan is snoring he's nearly 15 now. Thanks for asking 🙂

Re: Just checking in.

Thank you @Former-Member for your kindness and support. My situation would try the strongest to despair and test the patience of a saint 💕 People close have said it would drive anyone to the brink and they don't know how I cope. I wouldn't do anything that would hurt my husband, worry not. I am attempting to cross stitch and just watch TV. And tomorrow is another day. Hugs and thanks again 😌

Re: Just checking in.

Hi @Former-Member,

I think you are doing remarkably well with the load you've been under. I really hope hubby comes back to himself soon, he must really be hurting over it all. I can relate to some of what you say. I can't go into it but have been faced with a really difficult decision to make which I couldn't do. I had got to the stage where I thought it was easier to leave permanently than face things in my home. It has come to a head now and I don't really know the outcome as it is a work in progress. I wish I could write more specifics but I can't. I can just say to hold on as you've always done and look after you and hubby first. I had very much forgotten lots of this and self sacrificed in stupid ways that will bring no one any thing of value, not me or those I sacrificed for. sending hugs 💜🤗

Re: Just checking in.

❤️💕 @Former-Member .....

That has been a major part of my learning journey .... as an empath you are prepared to give heart and soul for others .... but learning how to drive that gift means learning to give heart and soul for yourself first and foremost, because it gives you the power of far greater discernment about whether it is good, or beneficial more to the point, as to how, when, and how much to sacrifice for others.

Well done @Former-Member that you are gaining greater self-awareness in this area. My self-esteem was badly trampled before I got that message, not that yours hasn't been .... but I can really relate to what a quantum leap this is for you,

@Former-Member .... you're clearly part of this spectrum too .... so hard to step back and allow our kids to learn by falling down and taking responsibility for their own outcomes, supported as they may also be .... but necessary too ....

Hugs n hugs to both of you .... ❤️💕💐❤️💕💐❤️
